  1. Could not go to the match last night but judging by the posts, we were not at our best, Despite that, the stats showed us to have the edge, and we hit posts, goals disallowed and shots cleared off the line. Swindon are in the playoffs too. We cannot win every game and we will have games like this from time to time. The disappointment will go away and we must remember have come a long way since the first game of the season when mid table was our goal. The playoffs were always a big expectation with the 10 points deduction, so let us enjoy those great wins we have had and of course the visit to Wembley on the 28th.Whatever happens, no one can deny we have some very good players and overall ,are enjoying our football once again.
  2. I cannot see how Mr Androcles an say that he will cut things to the bone, when he allows them to fly to Burnley last week and overnight in a Hotel and then pay Storrie £35K per month. Exactly what is Storrie supposed to be doing, as surely Androcles is running things at the Club now? The whole thing stinks and I wonder if there is more than we can ever imagine, to come out of this mess.
  3. I must be honest though and say that when we failed to return to the Premiership and were bottom of the Championship last season, I never had an inkling that we would be able to play so well and have so many quality players as we have now.
  4. I can appreciate how you feel. I have always found David Luker very helpful and if you contact him and explain, he should be able to check the number of tickets you buy and therefore may be able to help you.
  5. If cutting things to the bone means flying the team and entourage to Burnley and staying in a hotel overnight, the Administrator would have had a little more credence, if he made them go up on the coach early on Saturday.
  6. Your right, it was Tahar but the chant went "New boots Tahar--New boots Tahar" and was sung again within my family, when anybody had new shoes.
  7. The Stripes were on sale in the megastore on Saturday with the words "Johnsons Paint Trophy Final Wembley thereon." After selling these, there is no way we will wear a different strip.
  8. Thanks for all the reports guys. How can we be so poor after the elation of Norwich? However, some of the other top teams lost at Home tonight so I expect their supporters are suffering too. We set are sights on mid table at the beginning of the season and it looks as though we shall be just below the playoffs come the end. We have a bonus with Wembley and had a good cup run so everything is not all that bleak. The only thing that worries me is our ability not to win against poor teams and as someone else said, we play poor on bad pitches and they will be with us next year. We will still have virtually the same team then, so a change of tactics on those grounds will be needed.
  9. Dissapointing there was no discussion with Claridge as with most other Teams. This was a great win against the league leaders who had not dropped a point at home for 11 games for goodness sake. Shame on you BBC--licence refund please!
  10. From BBC I Player it seemed to me he was going forward with step overs and assisted Lallana when he hit the post. He also did the same for Puncheon who then did well with a burst of speed to get around a defender to cross for Barnard to score.
  11. Thanks for the reports guys. I had BBC Sports Live Text on and I could see from Stats etc that we were well on top, especially first half. The goals will do Barnard good and give him extra confidence now and I really look forward to seeing Puncheon at SMS. I watched him at Exeter on that mud heap and could see he was classy on the ball with an excellent first touch.
  12. I think we were lucky to get AP as manager. Many good managers would not be prepared to "lower" themselves into the 3rd division. Thank goodness he could think outside the box and see the bigger picture. He inherited a terrible team with hardly any pre-season who could not defend set pieces, had no pace and could not score goals. There is still some dead wood to clear out but look how far we have come. Judging by the crowds we get most Saints supporters agree. I like what he says and how we now play. It will always be a struggle to get out of this division primarily due to the state of the pitches and the direct style of play of some teams. Let us therefore get behind him and hope we can get promoted next season when we can play good football on better pitches as we do at St Marys.

    Trouble?

Why some morons from both clubs have to behave like that is beyond me.
  14. I would agree with Bridge in the initial subject matter of this thread. However, we are not in the Premiership yet and a few of our players will not make it there either. We can therefore leave things as they are for the time being.
  15. The Management of the club know what they are doing and I suspect this issue has never been considered. IMO we would have to be back in the Premiership and 25K ST sold each year for 3 years before this would ever be considered.
  16. We had our chances but our lads played well and clearly did their best. Well done to AP and all the Team. You were great. Now we can look forward to Wembley and in 2 weeks this game will be forgotton except that Saints will have learned a lot from it.
  17. The Statement of Affairs requested by HMRC will tell HMRC if the the Club is solvent. RinNY's post above sets out the creditors (there will be even more in 7 days time).HMRC will then deduct these from the assets to confirm solvency or otherwise. The assets will be the Stadium, surrounding ground and players. In the current economic situation, these cannot possibly be worth more than £70M.Simply compare the alleged cost of SFC to Mr Leibherr, and look at the assets we had. The company must be insolvent and thus must be liquidated as the Directors are trading illegally.
  18. I thought Puncheon had some nice touches on Saturday and looks a quality player. It was a pity that dreadful pitch did not allow him to display his skills to the full. Cannot wait to see him at St. Mary's though.
  19. I think Sol Cambell has, for his image rights etc. but cannot understand the link between the Shop and the Club unless it is a retail outlet for their merchandise. I believe it is illegal under the Companies Act to give such a guarantee unless it is to a subsidiary and there is a commercial relationship. A similar position arises if Portsmouth City Football Club Ltd lent money to a Director.
  20. Reported in the DT Business Section that Grosvenor Esates( Duke of Westminster) has been added to the WU Petition due to unpaid rent on a shop in Festival Place Basuingstoke. The club is thought to be guarantor for the un-named tenant who has fallen into administration. It just gets worse.
  21. When a club is in financial difficulties, there are always loads of other creditors which are not public knowledge
  22. I get the feeling that we have'nt played anything like so well, since Connelly has been injured.
  23. Good to see both wingers runing at defences with pace and crossing the ball. Waigo was excellent when he came on. Our defence had an easy day today although Mills looked a little shaky early on and Wotton was dodgy too.First half poor but seconed half we came to light after the Waigo subsitution. Antonio MOM for me.
  24. Bridgey's girlfriend would not move to Manchester with him.
  25. This will not be a problem as he will not play with that bad knee...Coles will.
