  1. Quashie is not the right "type" for this club anymore I am afraid.
  2. I cannot see that the players would be "tired" after the trip to Hartlepool. They are going up by plane after all and should be like coiled springs when they come off, ready to give all for the cause. Its the fans that travel all that way, that I admire.
  3. Sitting in the Chapel, I did not have the best view of the goals we gave away but seeing the TV replays, they were so disappointing in comparison to the build up and the two superb goals we scored. The pen Lloyd have away was awful as was Kelvin's mishandling from a shot so far out. Those two errors cost us the game I am afraid.
  4. I doubt that and supporters sitting at the back of the stands next to a speaker would not be too keen either. We have had extra speakers on the ground behind the goal at the Chapel end for a few seasons now, but you still cannot hear what is being said.
  5. I enjoyed this game and a fair result. We still do not win enough tackles and our passing to one of our own players needs improving upon. We still seem to leave their attacking players with too much room. Both our goals and the build up were quality.
  6. There has always been a problem with Kelvin not coming out to domineer his box. Kuipers did exactly the opposite on Sunday. I think the problem is that he is not tall enough for current day standards, where he has big strikers and big defenders, on set pieces, in and around the box to contend with.
  7. Probably because the bulk of his team had been playing together for some time, whereas ours was formed after the season began.
  8. I am feeling as miserable as everyone else today. Brighton were up for it and we did not have the desire, coupled with some bad mistakes and poor performances from some players. AP knew exactly what went wrong from his comments on Radio Solent. We have got to move on, having learned a lot, and after our defeat of Norwich next Saturday, all this will have been forgotten and we shall be happy again.

    Set Pieces

We never looked liked scoring from our corners all day despite having so many. They were all floaters that the defenders dealt with easily if they did not go too far over. Please, please try whipped in ones ala MLT, as they can cause so much mayhem in the box.
  10. Apparantly this was mentioned in the programme today that AP wants an outfield captain
  11. Mr Smirker from Smirksville smirking at the smirkers.

    Skacel Signs

Rudi flattered to deceive. I cannot ever remember him being man of the match.
  13. yep, that sums up his ability exactly.

    Barts in goal!

Bart had a very good game and his handling was excellent bearing in mind the slippery conditions. I liked the way he came out for crosses too. With him setting up the last goal too, will produce loads of confidence.Well done Bartman.
  15. What?
  16. Pardew is so honest in his interviews. It is refreshing that he sees the game exactly as most of us do on this forum.
  17. I do, as we would get a good gate and we need to get one over them for turning us over at Dean Court in pre season, albeit with a different team than we have now.
  18. I always thought Camara (The skate one) was something to do with the award.
  19. Has anybody ever heard from Fry about their shares in Southampton Leisure Holdings Ltd?
  20. That was useful and nice to watch. Thank you Saint John.
  21. He will be ok given time. No worse than BT when we first signed him at that age.
  22. Cannot argue with that but Rikki has a better first touch than Beattie
  23. FF has a good point here. I believe there was a feature in the programme last week on Davy Burnside, so it seems strange that there was no representative at the Funeral, as obviously the club knew about his demise. I believe that someone should have gone to represent the Club, even if that person did not know him personally. Isn't that what our ambassadors are supposed to do?
  24. I have acquired a 450mm galvanised pipe flag pole which is split into 4 x 5 foot pieces that screw together.. I wish to cement a 350mm galvanised pipe into the ground, over which I shall "sleeve" the Flag Pole. This will aid removal for decoration, maintenance etc. I need to know the depth of the 350mm pipe below ground and its height above ground please?
  25. Agree that is a difficult problem. The only thing Pards can do is to tell them that there is no future for them at SMS and they must look for another club now. The alternative is to get forgotton in the reserves so no club would have heard of them and thus their wages will reduce substantially when they are out of contract. Similarly there will be numerous players looking for clubs at the end of the season and therefore they may not find a club at all, if they leave it to then.
