  1. I think I understood WGS a little better, but I have not understood what any manager has been saying on the big screen on match days , during training at Staplewood ,for years.
  2. Goodness me, you will be starting rumours in the Mirror next. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2008/12/16/southampton-want-to-pay-off-jason-euell-115875-20974725/
  3. I do not know about selling their entire squad just to buy Jack Cork, but I cannot see the Skates buying any one. Their debt of £60M between the 2 Company's involved with them, is just not sustainable and Gaydamak will not be putting any more money in when they make gross losses on P & L and he is effected by the global credit crunch. Certainly they will have to off load some players and the new training ground and stadium is just a distant dream now.
  4. Surmans a good player for us and I would be sorry if he went. However, if he has the opportunity to better himself who can blame him? I certainly wanted to better myself when working and took every promotion that was offerred to me.By working hard and spending ours at night school to get qualified, I owed it to myself and my family. Reality says that the Club need the money too.
  5. I did not see Sir Alf play at the Dell but Stuart Williams was one of my favourites in my early days of watching there. He was a stylish, Welsh International who did not let many get past him.
  6. It will be good to see him running at defences again.
  7. Mind you ,I did see Bobby Charlton score a terrific goal the other day on TV, when watching some youngsters play, whilst taking his whippet for a walk in the park!

    Paterson

First time I have seen Paterson, well built for a striker and has a good first touch.Must say though, I did feel as though he looked very tired which is unusual for a youngster who only played a few minutes in ther second half.
  9. As a ST Holder I am not fussed to have more than one ticket. I hope though that the club ensure all ST Holders & members have discounted tickets and those who have not been to any games will only enjoy the general sale, if they attend the next two home games and pay extra for their Man U tickets.
  10. We have never been able to take corners since MLT retired. We are now back to the Steve Neville days and he still could not take them when he moved to Exeter!.

    Webster

Has anybody ever seen Malcolm Webster run or even trot or walk fast?
  12. Jason Euell has now let himself, the team and the fans down over this.
  13. You could see he was not ready at the Bristol City Match. It was not fair to start him on Saturday. As such a young player, He should come on with 10mins to go in order to build up his confidence. I suspect he has now lost that and it may therefore, take a time to rebuild it. However, he has good potential and will be back in due course.
  14. I could not see from the Chapel if Euells Sending Off was deserved or not. It will be looked at by the club on the video and if it was not deserved, the club will appeal and it will be rescinded. It is as simple as that.
  15. As long as Saints continue to trade as a going concern, the Bank will not get involved with RL departure otherwise they become "Interested Directors" under the Companies Act and thus can become liable for the affairs of the club, in particular its liabilities.
  16. You were correct but it was at The Dell and the announcer in the maroon coat forgot his name!. I cannot remember it also,(It might have been Mike Williamson or Crainie) but I do remember the announcer was the one that used to telephone the PA to play "One Vision" before the teams came out. Later at St Mary's he overead the half time scores, talking about the away team coaches after the match. I have never seen him since!
  17. I have just had a look at last years accounts and the Loan Note is at 8.35% fixed. All Barclays overdraft and Loans are linked to base rate unless these were renegotiated when Rupes took back control.
  18. I do not think the Loan Note Holder (for the Stadium) is Barclays and I seem to recall that it is at a fixed rate. The overdraft with Barclays, will of course, benefit from the rate cut assuming it is linked to base rate rather than libor.
  19. Kelvin has played exceptionally well this season, but still does not come for crosses as RW did with us. However, this is a question of confidence, and reading last nights reports, could see him beginning to change. He does have a physical disadvantage with his height though ,against some of those big players in this league. Well done Kelvin last night.
  20. It would be dangerous to play Killer. He has been out for weeks and certainly cannot possibly be match fit yet.
  21. It goes to show that we can defend set pieces when we concentrate and take responsibility. Interesting to read JP comments on the OS, that the plan was to interchange Rudi, Mills & Suman- that is novel. Well done lads!
  22. Never rated Delap or Fuller when they were with us. £90K paid for Fuller was about right but £4m Gray paid for delap--well!!!
  23. I saw him drive into the Car Park in a Mercedes with his personal number plate on Saturday.
  24. I would agree with that. RL said after the cup final that we were now ready to move on to the next tier. He did not back WGS with the cash to buy better players and WGS moved on. The rest, as they say , is history.
