  1. Arsenal youngsters are not only better footballers than ours, must of them are 6ft tall. Ours are dwarfs in comparison.
  2. I guess all those who post on here are regular supporters who are committed to Saints and thus have something to say. If we continue to get gates of 14/15K as we have for the last 2 games, of course we shall have to sell assets to survive. That is the plain economic fact of the commercial world, so do not put all the blame on Rupes in his current tenure, the stay away fans must shoulder some of the blame if Lallana goes.
  3. If he will not put the effort in ,surely the club can issue disciplinary proceedings. After the required periods of notice & review etc. if nothing improves we can get rid surely?
  4. I hope he settled his medical bill before he left otherwise another load of money written off. It may well turn out that he will not be the same player and thus we shall be glad of the £1.3m, and the disappearing wages. Only time will tell.
  5. For the umteenth time, the Bank would not be picking the Team as otherwise they become" interested Directors" under the terms of the Companies Act and thus liable to the Administrator/ Liquidator in the event of such an arrangement. No bank with the reputation of Barclays would undertake such action.
  6. That is how I saw it too. There were a number of occasions on Saturday when Surman just did not have the pace to get back. I think he is classy player but not in that position. Young James is getting better with every game.
  7. The truth is probably somewhere betwwen RL & MW wishing to protect their stake in the business and the bank saying "ok, but continued support will mean selling assets". The Bank will not stipulate who they sell as otherwise would become "interested directors" under the terms of the Companies Act and thus illegal. It seems to me that as nobody wishes to buy Kelvin Davies, Euell and Skajel we are forced to sell others who can raise reasonable sums, not by design but simply circumstances. That is the fact of the case surely? We can all help in a small way by ensuring that the 18K fans who were their on Saturday each bring and ex-supporter back to SMS for the rest of the season.
  8. I cannot argue with that so thank you for the clarification. I must have had a senior moment when I posted!
  9. We were in the Premiership when SCW joined. I distinctly remember Rupert inviting him to Aston Villa on the first day of the season as his guest and he was appointed shortly after. I welcomed the appointment as I felt he had a lot to bring to the Table. Unfortunately it did not bring one iota of advantage and as you say, we were relegated.
  10. Yes, I agree. I would like to see that Team tommorrow as easier to get to Exeter than St Mary's for me.
  11. Colour Sargeant Bourne:"Mr Witt Sir....be quiet now will you, theres a good gentleman, youll upset the lads" Zulu
  12. I listened to the Forum via this site last night and felt what was said nawx very refreshing . Good to know that Jacksons Farm has no intention of being sold as it does not fit within the Planning boundaries at prsent. Even if it did, the Building Companies have no cash. Also likewise Stapelwood ,where we own part of the complex and lease the the other part.
