  1. Pure marketing, thats all. The Club want to get supporters into the Megastore and they may buy some merchandise as well as a programme.
  2. Having seen the highlights, it seems we gave too much space to Everton's wingers. After the first 20 mins we should have changed formation and brought our wingers back more to help the full backs, with Rickie left up front on his own. Everton's crowd were getting frustrated by then as we were winning and this may have filtered through to their players. Thats where the tactics were wrong I feel. We cannot play attacking football all the time away from home imho.
  3. The dead snake is back. He was awful for us when on Loan from Arsenal at the Dell but had a good spell with Fulham a few years back.
  4. Always liked him. Last saw him a couple of seasons ago at SMS when we played Norwich.RIP.
  5. His Folks live in Bridport I believe. He was interviewed on Saints Player a few weeks ago and seemed a very intelligent and articulate young man.
  6. No contest at the moment, Gazza will start. To drop him now would be a poor management decision and NA does not act like that.
  7. I spent nearly 30 years working in the industry in the S.W and latterly regularly met Ministry of Agriculture Vets who reported how the disease was rapidly taking over Dairy Cattle. I also met with many heart broken Farmers and their families, who have lost thousands of pounds and some their livelihoods because of this wretched illness. We all have our opinions and I respect others, but something has to be done quickly now. As I have said before, if you are happy to pay increased taxes year on year and higher food costs, then vote against the cull, but please do not complain when a pint of milk is higher than a pint of beer and a steak is dearer than caviare. And to the person who said that badgers were gentle animals, I wish he was there when my wife found her two 20 year old geese, with their hearts ripped out and the badger still lying with them in the goose house. Brock did the same with my neighbours chickens but fortunately he was stopped the next night for killing any more , in the only humain way known.
  8. Fantastic. Ramirez always managed to keep the ball when he was under pressure from all angles. I also noticed Lallana's extra pace as mentioned above and he also seems to have got some more venom in his shooting too.
  9. Just do not believe it .Why then has TB in cattle increased dramatically since the badger population has increased dramatically and there are less Dairy herds than there were 15 years ago.? The compensation paid to farmers is just not sustainable. If all the badger lovers on this thread are happy that their taxes will continue to increase year on year and their benefits reduce, simply vote to stop the cull. Things are bad enough now in this country without making them worse. e
  10. Agree.Let us not waste any more tie on this nonsense.
  11. Incorrect, milk prices are part of the problem but not entirtely. The sale of surplus heifers form a large part of their Gross Margin.
  12. For Years TB Reactors in cows have been increasing considerably with a result that hundreds have to be slaughtered at the expense of the tax payer and the compensation farmers get is nothing like the value of the animal. This nonsense has just got to stop as the problem has escalated since badgers were made a protected species in the 1970's. We never see dead hedgehogs on our roads any more, simply badgers. That just shows how many are carrying this terrible disease. Farmers are leaving the dairy industry in droves and if nothing is done milk and beef will eventually rise in price just like the cost of fuel. Surely no tax payer will want that.
  13. Yes agree completely. "There's only one Nigel Atkins" would give him a boost. He deserves it.
  14. Tajjuk's coments about our Players didnt know who they were supposed to be marking is very relevant. In the close-up TV shots they looked bewildered at times. Arsenal were certainly on song but our players did not look like this against Man City and Man U. Perhaps the occasion and size of Stadium got to them but certainly a win V Wigan is so important now to breed confidence. The reality check is that the Premier League is so much different than the Championship.
  15. We could do worse than get him down to Staplewood for a day's workshop with our defenders. After all he was a very experienced full back too.
  16. I thought this was a strange appointment when it was announced. NA said it was because he had shown loyalty to Saints over many years and was a very good player. Whilst I agree with those sentiments, not the best reasons for appointing AL captain methinks.
  17. Gazza has played lower league football regularly. It is not like the Bart situation where he was on the bench for years. If we do not play Gazza how will we or he know, if he is any good or not. Gazza came to us for a chance of Premier League Football, if he does not play after the last 4 performances we have seen, his confidence may be shot too.
  18. Kelvin does give too many goals away from shots way outside the penalty area and at the near post. Furthermore he does not command his area. We all commented on this last year but he got away with it in the Championship. The Premiership is ruthless and sadly, time for a change now.
  19. He thing that struck me was how much faster Arsenal were than us. Their forwards went past our defemders just as though they were not there.
  20. We all knew he was England class. Well done Adam, richly deserved.
  21. We are going to see a lot more of these tactical games from NA this season, so we had better get used to it. It certainly is'nt going to be like the Championship or League 1. We are against top players now and have to adjust our game to compensate.
  22. Well done to Nigel and the boys-fantastic. Great to see Rickie's goal to prove to the doubters that he can do it in the premiership too. Clyne really class.
  23. Signings depend on so much ie. The player wants to come, the price is acceptable to the selling club, the terms are acceptable to the player et. If there is stalement on any one of these, the deal can end after negotiation falls down. Let us give it a rest now.
  24. Agree. Red & White stripes for me .The best kit was worn in the first season at SMS
  25. It is tragic that he could not see the journey we have been on since he bought us. RIP Markus and thank you.
