  1. A class player whose movement was a treat to watch. I expect he will be very much aware of the reasons for his release which we all expected. Good luck in the future and thank you.
  2. An announcement was made on the big Screen at the Coventry game. I believe first date for existing ST Holders was 6th June.
  3. Saint Lard, did you ask him if the Ruskies had completed the purchase of Reading yet or have they still not passed the FPPT?
  4. Howard Bowden and Alan Gibson state in their book "Saints in Stripes" that our usual home kit between Aug 1980 and May 1985 was made by Patrick. It was a plain red shirt with a single thick white stripe down the front, and a thinner white stripe running down under the arms. It had a red, white and black collar fearturing a black "V". The shorts were black with a white stripe down each side and the socks were white with 2 red rings at the top. The sponsors during that period were Rank Xerox, Air Florida and Draper Tools. The away kit at the time was identical, but in dark and light blue instead of the red, white and black. I hope this helps the memory recall!
  5. Well written article.

Absolutely. He also said that the Skates would go up this season. Should have been a Funeral Director rather than a Football Manager.
  7. Sad news on the day Reading released Brian.
  8. He does leave the winger with so much room and the pacey lad from Middlesborough, gave him a terrible time on TV recently.
  9. Agree entirely. We have enough squad players.
  10. We may have hot water for the wash basins in the toilets now that we are in the Prem?
  11. Heskey played in the world cup. Heskey vvs Lambert--no contest.
  12. Agree we need pace, back and front, if we are to succeed in the Premiership.
  13. It is good to cultivtate the Asian countries which have strong growth and the Club can benefit from merchandising. Fulham used to get quite a number of Japanese supporters when they had 2 players in the squad, when we were last in the Premiership. I would expect to see some more at SMS next season.
  14. Well behaved fans who have a lot in common with us ie WGS, Sisu Dulieu etc. They had many young players in the team who did well yesterday and they never gave up singing for their team. It must have been very hard for them to see all the goings on by us as our team were promoted but they are going down. Let us hope that they can quickly recover, somebody buys them who are proper football people and we can see the RIcoh jumping again. Good luck Coventry City.
  15. We sang your name today Markus. We know you were there with us, helping us live the dream that is now a reality.
  16. When we got relegated to the third tier I did not think I would ever see Saints in the Premiership in my lifetime. There I was today, on the pitch with my Son and two Grandsons enjoying the celebrations with the rest of the Fans, knowing what a great journey we now have before us. Congratulations to Nigel and the Team and many thanks to Markus and Nicola.
  17. I could not enjoy my day unless I had my twice daily dose of TSW.
  18. Unfortunately Fonte let us down again tonight. Before that Hammond and the two full backs were very poor--Hammond in giving the ball away frequesntly and not being able to tackle , and the full backs in giving the wingers too much space. Forget about the refereeing decision and the Lino for Rickies goal disallowed, we were just not good enough tonight. My goodness, if we do go up we have to get a few premiership class players in. Our weaknesses really showed up tonight.
  19. I like the cut of your jib Chez.
  20. You predicted correct with change kit last time, give us a taster of your thoughts!
  21. All this talk of expansion is exciting but it will all come down to cash and attendances. The Board will want a guarantee of that and the only way is through Season Ticket Sales. A first pointer is the number we sell for next season.
  22. Madjeski has also said in the past, that he will not be putting any more money into the club as he has put in enough over the years. Hence the wish to sell. If the deal with the Ruskies falls through, I guess Reading will not be buying any players then.
  23. My goodness that interview by NA was so positive and enthusiastic. How can we not win now? Three points.
  24. Feeling down this morning. We played well for most of the game but were let down by those 3 individual mistakes and some good goalkeeping . In saying that, Danny Fox seems to give his winger too much space in all the games I have seen this season. Furthermore we still seem to stand off and not make a tackle as in the seconed goal and this too has been a problem all season. If we do go up, we shall have to buy quite a few players if we wish to remain in the Premiership.
