Went to the game today and have mixed feelings about the game. I thought our possession and passing was neat and crisp but wirh no real product at the end of it. I would give Romeu motm, thought he was solid in midfield. I also thought Rodriguez was playing ok and I'm not too sure why he was subbed at ht. The penalty was an absolutute feckin traversty, despite the fact that that it was a soft foul I noticed before that tackle that Forster was trying to get the attention of the ref to make him aware that an Arsenal player had a head injury and I presume he thought that play had stopped, perhaps watching the highlights on Motd might shed more light on it but I was almost pitch level in the Arsenal end and thats how it looked to me. I was under the impression that the play should be immediately stopped if there is an obvious head injury, obviously most of the saints players were expecting that but Arse and the ref didn't or so it seemed. Two worrying things are, 1. No good pussyfooting the ball about if it does not go in the net at the end of it or at least close, this combined with a total lack of fire power up front is a big concern. I would rather see route one football if it produces results to be honest. 2. Virgil and Fonte spent a lot of time bickering with eachother and their body language looked like they were both highly p*ssed off. Not sure what that was about but not too clever if both your central defenders are unhappy. Oh and JWP as a game changing sub.................please!. On a positive, we did'nt get tonked as I expected and for most part held our own, whether or not that means we are improving or Arsenal are just pants I dont know.

Perhaps plan a visit to a bed store after today?

Ofcourse I suppose you have never evaluated a players performance on here seeing that you are the Mother Teresa of Saintsweb, but you sure as hell make up for it with your continuous attacks on fellow posters who see things differently to you

That doesn't read well. Hard to believe saints have got involved with this, its not very saintly!.

I might have a moan about them from time to time but I still support them through thick and thin contrary to what you may think.

I don't see it as contradictory, hopefully Les doesn't get involved in formations!. Imo Puel was selected because he was ok with bringing on the youth, minimal spending and not rocking the boat ala Koeman which for me were bigger priorities for Les rather than Puel's management ability which to be honest has a chequered past. Again imo, the formation is a different story but one that is not helping. If Puel conitnues with this formation we will struggle this season even mid table. On another note, our prestige signing is injured plus we will lose him for a long spell playing in a tournament for his country, we have another signing injured for the season, we have rumours of disharmony in the camp and in my eyes we needed another couple of players to strengthen the squad ready for the Europa. I understand that losing Koeman put a spanner in the works but I feel we have generally fooked up!

My problem with all of this is not necessarily the squad although I do think it is a little light, but my issue is with the manager. Alarm bells rang even before he was appointed. As opposed to some on here I was not overly impressed with his previous exploits or what some of the French press and fans were saying. In my view he got the job because he was compliant with Les demands, and then to change the playing system that has been so successful for us in the last few seasons is the death nail in our coffin. As for Boufal, he is an exciting prospect but we still start our next game against Arsenal with the same team that has got us our first free results so for me the transfer window is disappointing, but more importantly my biggest concern is with Les and co's new philosophy and subsequent manager they have appointed.
