Very good article, it does help view relegation in a slightly different light, the only thing I would say is that under Koeman we were managing to win games and rub some big teams up the wrong way whilst in the main being entertained. The problem is that when you have a team capable of that its not long before the squad is ravaged by the big teams blagging all your best players and then you are back to square one. Yes football does provide enertainment but at the end of the day it is a sport hence it is competitive and the sole aim is to win, so even in the championship we will still be competing to get back into the Premiership.

To think McCarthy has played with that defence infront of him constitutes a minor miracle that he has done so well. For me FF's head has gone and maybe the best thing for him is to move on to pastures new and try to regain his confidence in a new environment as he is partly responsible for us being in our current situation. As for McCarthy, he has earned his place as number 1 keeper but does need decent backup.

Well I think a lot of us were waiting for that last minute goal to happen, story of the season really. As someone said earlier on, had McCarthy been brought into the side earlier in the season we would not be in this situation, likewise the same with Hughes. Had a decent replacement for Virgil been purchased in January the story would be different. All of these are fundamental errors of judgement which the fans could see but the powers that be didn't, whatever happens now surely heads should roll.

They all deserve major stick for being paid well for playing sh*t. The best way to get off the bench is to do the business on the pitch when selected. The 3 you mention have all been given a chance this season but have been utterly dire. I can honestly say that McCarthy is the only player who can hold his head up.

And maybe signing a new bunch of budding arseholes ready to put themselves in the shop window.......and on we go.

Good question. Perhaps Kat included various conditions in the sale regarding not being able to remove board members etc, god help us if thats the case.

Dropping down to the championship somewhat reduces the quality of manager we can attract so for that reason I would keep hold of Hughes for his experience rather than taking on an untried and tested manager or an unkown from abroad. What concerns me is if Reed is still here he will not allow Hughes control of player coming and goings, and what ultimately worries me is if Reed still manages to keep his job how the hell do we have any chance of progressing at all.
