Mane is way, way better than Townsend. Townsend is a one trick pony and gets figured out by managers, if you stop him cutting in from the right and shooting what else can he do? He is okay for a club like Newcastle (who went down) but I think we should be setting our sights much much higher IMO. Whereas Mane is so unpredictable he has terrorised nearly every defence in the league at some point in these last two seasons. Think he'd be an okay squad player but a replacement for Mane? No f-king chance! Are you trolling?

He actually played against United when they shut them out for 120 minutes at Old Trafford and knocked them out the cup, that would seem really impressive but then you see they scored the 10th most goals and had the 15th most shots in the league this season

Centre back is the hardest position to break into in the Premier League just in front of holding midfield and GK, mistakes are magnified and far more costly that you need to be a ready made brilliant defender at 21 and basically can you name one young centre back playing that position regularly in the whole division apart from Stones? And he's probably made more mistakes than any this season. Looking back there was Terry, Ferdinand, Campbell and King breaking through quite young but its even rarer these days and they turned out to be some of the best centre backs of their generation.

Now we've got group stages ideal scenario would be to lose just Juanmi and maybe one other (Wanyama). To lose 4 first team players yet again I feel might be a stretch too far with at least 6 extra tough games to deal with plus Koeman wouldn't want that. I say that with players that have more than a year left we put our foot down like Everton did last summer with stones and say no, obviously if a silly 40m + offer comes in for Mane we probably should accept provided we get a replacement in first. Where will Tadic go that is the question? Can't see any CL club wanting him, would Chelsea want him? Where could he step up from here if he stays in England?

If Mane, Wanyama and Tadic want to go after the season we've had, seeing what Leicester have done and seeing what has happened to Morgan etc good luck to them. Need to get in players like VVD who have something they don't have, loyalty. Can't afford to get more than one player this summer who doesn't have a loyal head on his shoulders IMO
