The left back who could generally be found in central midfield Surprised he's only 34, where has he been since we got relegated ?

Or try this for penny pinching, David Coles initials are obviously not SN. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/coles-backs-barker-as-he-bids-farewell-to-pompey-1-5753650

It must be one of the key benefits to UK grass roots football, having one of the world's biggest and bestest clubs falling through the leagues: All other clubs in those leagues having to expand their grounds to accommodate the 15,000 away fans, a bit like AFC Wimbledon at Godalming or Fleet. I hear Hampshire League Liss have taken on a commercial director to be ready for the massive influx, but I suppose that's another Storrie.

You're on my wave length with kicks that changed our history, Nick. After that Crouch one we seemed incapable of holding a lead once the extra time board went up, and Leon's penalty meant Lowe's two year plan to get back up had failed.

Leon Best penalty at Derby ?

Tottenham a dysfunctional team of individuals run ragged by Liverpool. Our all in it together team's pressing game should cause them a few problems, irrespective of who we have playing.

Ah, semantics - and never discuss the "League Cup" , I wouldn't have a chance !!

I keep bumping into Lawrie Mac at Southampton Audi !!!!

Dare I suggest those singing were not around in the Division One days ?

Thank goodness Loic Remy missed that Christmas present from Gazza, bad miss for a goal scoring predator. -

Great game, Chambers, Lovren and Cork immense today. Maybe we do have a little strength in depth. -

Management errors tonight, I reckon. Why change a solid central defensive partnership and then when they are both on the pitch, leave Fonte at right back. Poor old Yoshida was an accident waiting to happen, and he did three times: slipped for the first, got Cork in trouble and then lost his man for the second; and did the old Lundekvam backwards shuffle for the third. Where was Hooiveld, I didn't think he did badly against Arsenal ? We clearly missed the covering midfield player as well and the game turned from the usual controlled efforts into a lottery. -

All this, and Shaw was strong. Too comfortable at 1-0 when it was obvious Mourinho would tinker with the process of attack to find ways through, and he did. We had run out of ideas after the hour mark. Still prefer it to losing at Rochdale or Carlisle though. A steep learning curve to get amongst the top six. -
Without being negative, I find this very surprising. Just finished reading the Arsenal one, a bit like War and Peace, with plenty of articles. Dare I say I found Wenger's manager notes particularly good.

Our talisman. Many clubs have one, but for a while between MLT and Rickie, maybe we didn't have one. I always used to admire Steve Bull and his relationship with the supporters at Wolves, and I believe he didn't even get them to the top division.

Thollon les Memises,on the south side of Lac Leman. A 40 minute car ride to Villars, Les Diablerets, Gstaad Glacier 3000 and Portes du Soleil and an hour from Verbier. Annual family trip.

For a player who has had very little competitive football this season I though the man with a square head did very well today against ( looking at the table) the best team we will play this season. He was comfortable both on the ball and in moving the ball out of defence. It wasn't a Tuesday so he wasn't expected to score. Well done Big Man !

Saw the interview on Channel 4 news last night, very difficult to tell who it is either from the profile or (distorted) voice.

Apart from Sterling going on ridiculous runs like Zaha did last time out, England looking good.

Good news - Quantum memory 'world record' smashed

Quite frankly long overdue, boffins at Porton Down were near the one minute mark in 1940.
