  1. Agree with all that, but if you are a season ticket holder then you are addicted and are going nowhere, whatever division or ambition the club has. Even in the days of the Dutch buffoons we all had season tickets.
  2. Brilliant , nothing like an alternative view point on a factual statement from the source himself, keeps this forum alive !
  3. Set pieces are severely limited these days, with only the Lambert/Ramirez/A N Other shot at goal to test the opposition's pre match team analysis.
  4. Gary Medel at Cardiff, although we don't necessarily need another holding midfield player he would add a bit of bite to the middle and Morgan could get further up the field like earlier in the season.
  5. With regards to FF's 'glass ceiling' ,one thing that I understand Ralph Krueger etc are attempting is to make us The Club in the south - Firstly by extending the stadium capacity; and secondly by marketing the club to a wider geographical audience. Except the London clubs, our nearest competitors are Cardiff or Villa, the rest of the south and south west is ours to get on the bus.
  6. Under Charlotte Place / Jurys Inn , or the car park to the left on the entry approach road if you're early. Ten minutes walk.
  7. We went into administration owing £27m. Although currently a similar amount in debt; we are a division higher, own the stadium and our assets (players) value is vast compared with the squad 5 years ago. To get to this point in balancing the books, the Liebherrs have put in considerable investment. Hopefully at some point the club will become more sustainable.
  8. Watching the match last night made me realise how good our football is. Bayern looked like us when we're on our game.
  9. I know the doom mongers will not appreciate this , but it is in a newspaper , rather than first hand knowledge from a player's father: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/467914/Luke-Shaw-shoots-down-Man-Utd-Man-City-and-Chelsea-interest
  10. Good thread and interesting results, not unexpected in the quick progress of the nearly complete 5 year plan. The revenue stream from sponsorship seems a bit spartan, but NC was not a marketing man. I would be comfortable if funds from Osvaldo, Mayuka , and to a lesser extent Sharp contribute to any further incoming players whilst the club / Katharina cover other expenditure by getting a larger income from sponsorship. looking good from what I can see. 11. Maybe we are trying to buck the trend , change the hierarchy, bend your rule a bit, by keeping our best players and making ourselves one of the best teams. But what do I know, it's certainly easier to accept the status quo !
  12. The lazy British press probably have a list of teams from 1 to whatever. Any good player in some form at a club, except no 1, is expected to move up the hierarchy, simple journalism !
  13. Now that was fantastic, and to think we were worried the Toon would have a good spell at some point. Cracking atmosphere in the ground. Happy times. COYR
  14. Taken from a comment in The Snooze, this sums up the situation: "Warnock's comments on talk sport says it all. A group of passionate yet amateur directors, lacking vision and funding, steering a catastrophic and sometimes comical charade into non league football."
  15. The only affect it will have on us is one line in a song: "You sack everyone, we got Pochettino".
  16. ooooops - 2-2
  17. Just dropping in here now our geographical polar opposite have gone 2-1 up. The dream is alive Old Nick etc !
  18. Likewise, just back from the game, good atmosphere from the travelling support in a library. The only comments I would add to the above is that Kaboul and Dawson knew when a good old lump out of defence takes the pressure off, whilst we maintain the pressure on ourselves by playing it out. The second point is in the opposition penalty area where we again just need to put our foot through the ball rather than try and pass the ball into the net. Just before Spurs winner Lallana was free on the penalty spot looking for a pass. I appreciate both these comments are management issues rather than the players.
  19. I spent many years at The Dell standing, well being moved around the terracing - downwards when we scored, and otherwise sideways one way or another, and survived. The German standing / seating idea seems safe to me and would increase the attendance with little outlay. I'm all for it.
  20. I was involved in the 'Fratton Goods Yard' retail park for B&Q as a consultant. The Tesco application and all associated documentation will be considered by the council and go to their planning committee. Any decision really depends on how the opposition lobby support; and speak at the PCC planning meeting where the application will be determined. If they unnerve the local councillors on the planning committee with their opposition, then those councillors will lose their nerve, and vote against the application. However it will probably succeed at a planning appeal as the precedent for retail use has previously been established.
  21. You have to admire his never ending ability to find new angles and topics during a successful season for the club.
  22. Liverpool or Chelsea
  23. Used to play tennis against Thornden / Ossian with Dan Lobb etc.
  24. … and who is Hans Hofstetter ( to be named a director in the Torygraph article.)
