Kick off 5.30pm at Saints, my son has decided to play in a Hants County league game at 3pm kick off. Is there a late arrivals gate for the Kingsland stand or is there always a steward letting late arrivals in ?

I have been told that Brian Butler, the President of the Southampton Tyro Football League, died yesterday. Most football fans in the city will have come across Brian at some point as they played youth football. He was a strong willed character who was an exceptional organiser and an excellent football referee. RIP Brian

There is no game on 16 November, and there is talk of friendlies against Germany and Australia then , so probably another interntional break will accommodate the play offs.

Sunday Premiership football is difficult for families of Saints fans with sons who play Tyro etc youth football, especially a 1.30pm kick off, when even a 10am youth kick off becomes a mad rush to get to St Marys. Maybe this somewhat explains the low take up .

Good news, thanks CB Fry for your reassurance - I was beginning to wonder, listening to national radio phone ins over the last couple of months.

I didn't start this thread as another 'prediction' one , but more about the issue of clubs outside the top 4 beating the negativity surrounding any team outside the top four from the media who firstly never talk about any team except Arsenal, Man City, Manure and Chelsea and secondly, assume the existing status quo is unpenetrable. It seems to me the media , in a 'stasi 'sort of 'thought police' way have brain washed many, like those who have posted on here, into a total acceptance of the existing status quo going forward for the foreseeable future, with no alternatives accepted, even (say) Tottenham not being given a reasonable platform. With all the money sloshing about, if spent wisely with a decent manager, academy and team I see no reason why this cannot change, but I do understand that someone may knock at the door in the middle of the night and take me away for such thoughts.

Not necessarily this season chums, but in due course as clubs like Swansea, Everton, Saints and say Villa gradually build as I describe. The point being only four clubs are ever discussed at length by the media and any comment to the contrary is madness, like the 'Thought Police' run football.

Here below the radar of the lazy media who cannot be bothered to research beyond the top 4 and rarely talk / write about other clubs, we are slowly building a quality dynasty. If a club , say Southampton FC, get in a quality manager and coaching staff; have a strong academy set up; and then utilising the Sky money and their own resources, pick up quality players that have been considered by 'Top 4 ' clubs, then what is to stop them challenging for the league ? Or am I going mad, as I wouldn't dare suggest this on a national phone-in !!

It has crossed my mind that an in-form Boruc will be in goal for Poland at Wembley in a couple of weeks. He wouldn't would he ?

Calming down after getting back now. Big game today, Boruc and the centre backs were immense. We can now win matches without seeing the ball, which bodes well for the matches against Barcelona etc next season ! Fortunately Dyer still can't cross a ball although he has pace and a shot on him, but we struggled to show him outside. Loved Big Victor's rolling around in the corner. Cracking atmosphere once it became apparent that we had blown Swansea out, and boy they huffed and puffed between the centre circle and our box. Excellent substitutions again. MP is building a resilient side. With all the Sky money I reckon a good manager and a squad like Swansea or us should be threatening the 'top six' in the next couple of years as there are only so many players that can be bought and we certainly won in the last transfer window.

This, and every time during the 90 minutes. Too many around us in the Kingsland today were clearly not around 4 seasons ago, and are too ready to abuse players like Fox and Guly who were part of the rise through the divisions and are still here as one of us.

In response to Roger's question, I think too many phases of possession break down around Gaston, and that does not help MP's style of football because he does not forage for it or win it back again. In the same way I am pleasantly surprised that our other 'flair ' signing, Osvaldo, is clearly prepared to do his stint of retrieving for the team. I don't know if NC signed him with NA's knowledge or not, that is history, but like others no longer in the frame, until he is fit and shows some fight, I think Gaston will remain an impact player off the bench.

Very calm defence this season is certainly helping the Pochettino pressing game, Lovren is a class act. I agree with other posts, this was our most comfortable win since promotion.
