  1. This. Promotion first, then Championship if possible.
  2. You could sense they could do something special back in October when Saints played them. Superb achievement and well deserved
  3. West Ham play on Monday I believe so Saints can shoot them out of sight without them being able to do anything about it....
  4. I asked my Hammer work colleague on Tuesday whether he thought Birmingham had a chance of catching West Ham and take 3rd place. "No chance" he said, but he still harbours hopes, albeit slimming ones, that the Hammers will make up the same points difference over Saints/Reading...

    The Midfield

My point was he has improved greatly from earlier this season, not just from Saturday - apologies for any confusion etc.

Lallana looked like he'd had a talking to about his tracking back and helping out Fox. He was outstanding today.

    Guly

Adkins told him to turn around and go and applaud the fans - it looked like he was gesturing that he needed some liquid from the bench crate. He got some, and came back onto the pitch and made his way across to the fans. Fan reactions weremixed - got a good response coming on, then murmurs all around about his (lack of) workrate, criticism over his weak header straight at the keeper, and finally raptuous applause for a tackle!
  8. Expect 1-way traffic now all game....
  9. Agree, but Sharp was the Donny penalty taker so not really a surprise to me when he stepped up. As others have said, 1st goal was not a penalty but we have had our fair share of those this season, and the 2nd and 3rd were human errors. Sharp's movement was decent in patches, let down by some dodgy offside calls. Butterfield worries me, several times he and De Ridder looked on different planets when they are supposed to be working the same flank.
  10. Alex McCarthy would be a great signing, but he plays for Reading so probably a non-starter.
  11. This happened a few times today - people stopping in their tracks walking down the aisles because Saints were on the attack, thus blocking the view. If you have made the decision to leave, please keep moving (at least to the entrance to the steps/concourse!)
  12. Had to chuckle at Diouf's reaction to the first boos of the day as he took a corner in front of the Chapel/Itchen corner - blowing a kiss to us all, bless him.
  13. A young couple broughts its very young baby into the Itchen South, sitting a couple of rows in front of us - (s)he was a little cracker and seemed to be unfazed by both goal celebrations!
  14. During the second half, I'm sure everyone noticed Pascal Chimbonda and Billy Sharp coming together after the former said something to Billy. One wonders what it was, as it appeared to affect him for several minutes afterwards, seemed to be visibly angry... As for the gloves on Mr C.......
  15. Aye - have to say at least two were debatable though, and one of those, well.......
  16. Forgot that one Hasn't Harding given one away this year as well - might be wrong though?
  17. Nine pens for the Saints off the top of my head 1 Birmingham (H) 2 & 3 Watford (H) 4 & 5 Brighton (H) 6 Cardiff (H) 7 Watford (A) 8 & 9 Millwall (A) Can only think of 2 against, West Ham and possibly Palace in the Cup?
  18. Probably the same thing that the Carlisle CB was thinking about in the JPT Final! Is that Lambert behind Guly? (the legs)
  19. I had just walked out of the Yeovil/Walsall game (Oliver Lancashire was poor BTW!) and checked the phone for the final score (knew it went to 2-2). Got a few curious looks from the people around me after I shouted "Lambert you f****n beauty!
  20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8028366.stm "Needs someone to take a gamble on me" Thank you Saints for taking that gamble!
  21. Can't see Henderson displacing Green this season, however next season he could be their No.1 as Green is out of contract then. Mullins, if he goes to Reading won't get into its team straight away either. Joel Ward would be a decent signing, but he seems Pompey through and through, and he rejected the chance to leave in January as well.
  22. Could he be a realistic target?
  23. Have they any decent youth prospects - or did its only one head up to Liverpool a couple of weeks ago?
  24. 30 years of age. Used to live in Yeovil and was one of only 2/3 Saints fans in Secondary School, but now live in Fair Oak. First game was March 1994 at The Dell, lost 1-3 to Oldham, Benali scored a brilliant own-goal. My first away game was against Charlton in 2009/10, drew 1-1. Now a STH in the Itchen, since 2009/10.
