  1. An excellent team performance - the plan B we have been crying out for. Yoshida made that third goal, and to think he wasn't even sure if he should go up for the preceeding corner! Did anyone else notice after he'd scored, Alderweireld grabbed the ball and booted it out the ground... superb. PS. Forster's save from Lukaku's thunderbolt was top drawer from our viewpoint in the Itchen.
  2. Chris Foy is the ref - have we had him before this year?
  3. Bloody McGoldrick.
  4. Just proves that the gap between the top two teams, and the rest of the PL is massive. Those two breakaway goals were very impressive.
  5. Tonight just goes to show how important the "droppable" Steven Davis is to the entire set-up of the team IMO... However, many of the Saints teams of old would have folded, this one kept going to nab a point.

  7. Liverpool hit by the double beard attack. 3-1.
  8. As others have said, Why would he want to come back? He'd arguably be in a near identical situation here by sitting on the bench, hoping for the occasional run-out.
  9. If you look back at the goals Saints conceded against West Ham, Spurs and the first one tonight - all have been low long range shots that Forster has struggled to get down to. I am sure this will be worked on over the coming weeks.
  10. Pelle's 2nd was my favourite, although Tadic's finish was placed in the corner.
  11. i think the only choice is Wanyama or Cork. The rest of the starting XI (from yesterday) will play. Is it me, or has Mayuka "beefed" up a bit?
  12. Stats at half time read 45% possession, and 2 shots on target...
  13. This was the point I truly believed Saints would get promoted in 2011/12... Someone got a bit OTT with the Photoshop...
  14. Some have already been sold and are rumoured to be heading to Europe. The Spifire Mk.9 was up for £2.5m. A P-51D Mustang £1.5m.
  15. Neimi Clyne M Svensson Richards Bale Fernandes Oakley Ekelund Pahars Le Tissier Lambert
  16. post removed.
  17. Just been told that Franny had no idea all those ex-players were going to be in attendance today as well!
  18. Cool... I stand corrected. Well done to the Club for supporting it!
  19. Even before the game began the signs were there that Saints would win. After the pre-match handshakes, all the Saints players were passing balls among themselves. The Newcastle players just split up, some stood around on the pitch, others milled around off it. Not once did Pardew get off his seat either throughout the 90. Saints could have routed them had they wanted to. It reminded me of the Fulham game last year at home, ripping the opposition to pieces early on and then releasing the pressure. This happened after 2-0 for the rest of the first half. During the second 45, Newcastle was given enough of the ball, but this Saints XI knew that with its ability Newcastle could be picked off even further at any time. Quality game.
  20. Why were there no collection buckets around the ground though - was it because of a conflict with the Saints Foundation?
  21. I still remember that game - Saints had a penalty awarded I believe in the first 2/3 mins..."Bloody McGoldrick" passed it to the goalkeeper. Watford then scored I think, and Saints had a second spot kick.... Wotton snatched the ball and missed it. Like many others I went to the Sheff Utd 1-2 game... wasn't there a big push to get the game on?
  22. Never mind No.7, It could it be that we see the No.11 shirt being used in the Premiership again, used by such greats as Benali, Heaney, Rosler and M Svensson!
  23. "Phil v1.0" - the freeware version of the Neville commentator-software family.
  24. Groves' left leg folded like a deckchair. What a right-hander from Froch, out of nowhere!
