  1. Will you be counting everyone out and everyone in?
  2. Was listening to Talksport today (for my sins) and Piers Morgan was on talking about Arsenal and in particular Wenger. He reckons that he knows "for a fact" that there is a new 3 year contract awaiting Wenger. Okay, it's Piers Morgan, so take it all with a huge pinch of salt but it did make me think that if there is any truth in it and Wenger signs a new contract, that's a possible destination for RK gone in a year's time. As for Everton, if Martinez is for the chop it's a year too early for Ron if he intends to honour his contract.
  3. Spurs last night brought to mind Sir Alf's comment about Argentina '66 - "animals". Incredible they still had eleven men on the pitch. I noticed one of Spurs' players ( couldn't see who) bundled Guus over during the end of match melee. Still, Poch is "proud" of his players. Please can we hammer them on Sunday.
  4. Sends shivers down the spine!
  5. What an end to the weekend. Please please please can we destroy Spurs next weekend. Terrible losers tonight. Well done Leicester, jealous as f*ck but great to see.
  6. One advantage they have is that they are a settled side. The big boys may strengthen but they may take time to get their act together. Having said that, Spurs seemed to have had very few injuries to important players and next season could be different. It will be interesting to see if they can replicate their form now the expectation is there. I hope not.
  7. Five year contract or not - Poch can go whenever he wants, it'll just cost whoever wants him. I'm sure he'll be there next season though, unfortunately. Sorry Eskimo, hope you win your bet, but think you'll lose
  8. Agree, let the revisionism begin! He was bound to get a manager right eventually wasn't he? He's spotted what we were doing, then taken the manager and head of scouting to put it in place at Spurs. Genius! A true chairman with vision would have brought Poch in before we did. They didn't have a proper scouting system either IIRC. Well played Levy! "I know, I'll take that Mitchell bloke at Saints." I also don't for one minute think that Levy could have dreamed that they would have had such a season. Certainly once the window closed last Summer, their fans were complaining about a lack of signings - in particular a striker, so Levy puts in a derisory bid on Berahino. That kids been sh*t ever since. There must have been a lack of confidence in Dier as a DM, otherwise they wouldn't have come in for Vic as soon as Toby complained that he was used to having more protection. Dier has turned out well for them, but I'm sure it wasn't the master plan. Could Levy have dreamed that Alli would make such a huge impact in his first season? Or that Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Man U would be so lacklustre thus giving Spurs their chance to be something other than 5th or 6th as usual? I'm biased, I hate that Uncle Festa lookalike. I see him as the rich kid in the playground with no ideas of his own, but the money to copy the poorer kids who have style and ideas. No, I would not want him here.
  9. I think Ron is being honest when he says he'll honour his contract, but if he knows the board don't want him to go into his final year without some kind of contract extension, he also knows that he has a way out, one year early. He could refuse an extension, it will be the board who ask him to leave, his honour is intact. I have a feeling though that the board will go into his final year and spend that time looking for a replacement or trying to get an extension. Personally I'd prefer if they get it sorted this Summer - one way or another.

  11. No, no and thrice no! If it were to happen it would be a Ron decision, not Les. But I think the article is complete cobblers.
  12. I think if Toby wanted to be at Southampton he'd be here now. We signed Bertrand on a permanent contract during that January window, we were sharp enough to do that, so I reckon we would have done the same with TA if the option was there (and if he genuinly wanted to). He was great for us but on the flipside we were great for him - we put him in the shop window.
  13. I thought of him too, but think he might have higher ambitions than us.
  14. Koeman admitted that we'd had an interest in the past, so despite Depay's reputation Ron must have thought he could do something with him. But if we did sign him and Koeman is only here for another year, then what? Personally I hope we don't go anywhere near him. We don't need his elephant-sized ego or his elephant-sized wages at the club.
  15. Ox would be my choice. There is the question mark over him concerning injury, but one could say that about a lot of Arsenal players. Maybe our training and fitness regime will suit him better. Not interested in Depay as I think his personality would be a problem. Maybe Ron can sort that out, but how long is Ron going to be here for? Townsend.....can't make my mind up about him.
  16. Gazza made up for his clanger. Great save.
  17. After last year's late-in-the-window paltry offer from Levy, and the subsequent unsettling of Vic, I hope we tell them to get stuffed.
  18. A couple of articles concerning Depay with quotes from Koeman from last year; http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/may/07/memphis-depay-manchester-united-tarzan-tattoos http://www.90min.com/posts/2281883-manchester-united-warned-over-memphis-depay-s-disgusting-attitude?utm_source=RSS
  19. I seem to recall Koeman commenting last year that Depay had a bad attitude.
  20. Hopefully with Man U's front line now, they don't need Sadio.
  21. Fair play to Everton this half. Huge improvement. I like that Delofeu chap. Wonder if he fancies a move to the South coast?
  22. We are underdogs of course, but it depends which Man City turns up and more importantly which version of Saints turns up. Hopefully the version that did over Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea and the second half against Liverpool.
  23. Yep...piece of p*ss.
  24. Happy with the win (obviously), unhappy with the complacency and sloppiness that allowed Villa a sniff. Need to be one hell of a lot tighter and disciplined next week. MoM - Tadic. Most frustrating player - Schlong, but so glad he's with us. Thought Rom was pretty good too.
