  1. We just seem like a bunch of losers who keep pining over our previous girlfriend having been dumped for someone cooler and with more success. To reach our highest premiership level last season after losing a number of players was amazing but now it just gets a sarcastic "wow." It is impossible for a club the size of Southampton to continue to grow every season and Koeman is right to talk about managing expectations. You just have to look at Chelsea and United this season to see that success is not nailed on, even for a so called top four club.
  2. It is all very well to talk about blooding youngsters but they also have to be good enough. Gallagher for example may have featured in first team games but how many goals did he score? How many assists? How come he didn't press on and become a regular?

  6. I don't know what "look" he is going for but whatever it is, it isn't a good one!
  7. No but he placed a poor header right at a Palace player who then set up the move that lead to the goal.
  8. But David, that doesn't excuse the poor back pass, the dithering on the ball and the poor header out against Palace. In fact he was playing CH when that occurred!
  9. Wouldn't it be nice if there were a maximum wage now though and one we could afford to pay!

  13. The problem is though that these mistakes are not made up by supporters who just don't like him. He makes terrible howlers fairly consistently. Even at CH he is prone to regular mistakes that a Premiership player should not be making.
  14. Absolutely
  15. Yeah, I have just read the full news report. Pretty shabby in the end. Looks like they will both continue to fight the charges as well. I love the fact that they had an "oral" argreement (oo-er missus) over such a large sum of money. Different world!
  16. I agree. What makes it even worse was the fact that they kept saying that they were innocent. Couple of crooks who have ruined, with their other buddies, the reputation of world football. Lifetime ban was the minimum.

  18. Saturday Night Fever - the state of this forum after a loss. Lord of the Rings - a documentary about Fabrice Fernandes Raging Bull - a film of a training session featuring Osvaldo and Fonte. Tora! Tora! Tora! - story of a Japanese player with a penchant for suicide backpasses. Schneiderlin's List - The story of a young man who was kept against his will at St Marys but managed to make a miraculous escape aided by a friendly Dutchman to a safe haven in Manchester The LukeShaw Redemption - a player moves for a huge amount of money, starts off badly but eventually comes good. WardProwse Now - the story of a journey into the heart of Hampshire to find the mythical King of The Dead Ball Situation. All Quite On The Southampton Front - fly on the wall documentary about the inability of the Southampton forwards to score.
  19. Not seen much football recently apart from the highlights so rely on this place to get an idea about how Clasie is getting on. So far the feedback from yesterday ranges from best player to ok to poor. Confused!

  21. I suppose I was wondering whether the religion would become "extinct" because of persecution or "extinct" because the religion is quietly dying off, or a bit of both? I say dying off because in the same article there was also mention of the next coronation and whether that would be a Christian ceremony or a multi faith ceremony, or neither. We seem to be heading towards being a secular country, if we are not already. Is that down to the rise of multi faith communities or the decline of the Christian religion in this country?
  22. They are different types of player though so the comparison isn't really fair. He said himself that he is not a replacement for Morgan.
  23. Me too!
  24. I had the misfortune to pick up a copy of the Mail on Sunday this morning whilst eating my breakfast in a transport café and there was an article in it which I didn't read but have just caught up with online. Here are some quotes from it. " Queens speech to be the most overtly Christian yet as monarchs Christmas message takes on a particular significance in the light of a year of ISIS-inspired attacks. Sources familiar with the broadcast say she will use her traditional speech to reflect on her personal faith as well as her belief in the continuing role of Christianity at the centre of British life, despite rising secularism. If people in this country gave greater heed to what the Queen says about the importance of Christianity in our personal as well as our national life, then we would be in a better place to confront it. The Queen will also be aware that Christians and others have faced unprecedented persecution over the last year in parts of the Middle East and could even face extinction." I find that last sentence particularly interesting. Extinction?
