I really don't know mate. The only glimmer of hope that I can see is that apparently Wotte is not a "nice guy" so maybe he will ruffle a few feathers and get the bit more out of this bunch that we need to get some wins on the board.

I don't knof if your remember Frannie Lee? Great player for Man City. Ended up running the club and was a disaster. I don't believe tht Rupert Lowe goes to work every day and thinks, what can I do to bring anguish and pain to the SFC fraternity. He has the balls to make tough decsions, whether they are right or wrong, that is for people to debate. Where I work right now we have a hated boss. Sadly for him he cam in at a time where we have had £500,000 slashed from our budget every year for the next 3 years. He cannot replace staff when they leave and the workload is piling up on thoe who are left. He too is quite arrogant and self opinionated, but he too has his hands tied by financial constraints.

Tough match but I always fancy our chances more when we play a decent team. 2-1 to Saints.

I think that this club is desparate for a decent level of continuity in managers but sadly there was simply no other choice. Whether JP would have worked over the 3 year plan we shall never know, but as things stood, his time was up. We can only hope that Wotte turns out to be a better bet.

Well deserved. He took an enormous amount of stick but he has turned things round and has been a model pro. Fair play to the bloke.

These people might well care about themselves (and who doesn't if thruth be know?) but I do think that they believe that they are doing the best for the club. If Lowe was going to asset strip wouldn't he have done it long ago?

Saints to blame for rise in domestic violence?
sadoldgit replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
I thought that people were made of sterner stuff here. If I have offended your sensibilities then I apologise. I have been on the receiving end of domestic violence myself, not generated by a Saints result though! -
Wilde rode into town on the populist pony when we needed some to make prudent decisions. Becaue he was a fan and because he wanted to please fans he probably made decisions that, shall we say, were not so prudent. Whoever runs this club needs to try and balance the fans expectations with those of the banks - probably a near impossible task right now and not a job for the faint-hearted.

Nice to see that feedom of speech is alive and well in your world Gingeltiss. -
Before Lowe left the first time there was a train of thought that we needed a fan to run the place. I have no doubt that both Wilde and Crouch have SFC's best interests at heart but I think both prove that fans are not always the best people to take a club forward.

Saints to blame for rise in domestic violence?

It was meant as a joke. As for calling for an infraction, isn't that like trying to get a man booked??? -
Starting to win games? 3 in 13? By all accounts Mr Crouch was dithering over who to support up to the last minute because he wasn't sure that Wilde had the cash. He threw his cards in with Wilde who evidently did not have the cash so no great decision there. As for Wilde, I am sure he came in with good intentions but probably should have stuck to his Evolution not Revolution mantra. The trouble with revolutions is that they often end up with the originators sidelined and others pulling the strings. The fact that Lowe is back in the hot seat is testement to how successful Wilde and Crouch were between them!!!

Don't say that Alpine has been battering his misses as well as Lowe??? -
Funniest post this week!

Badly treated??? Lets see, we are paying him what, something like £6 to £9k a week? He chose to go out on loan rather than stay and help us stay up. He chose to stay here rather than go to Ipswich because of money. The poor love.......

And this is part of the problem Nick. If you are seen as being on once side of the fence it is ok to call you a plant in a very perjortive sense, on the other and all you are one of the gang and it is perfectly okay for you to be used as such. I am sure there are more than Duncan (by his own admission) who are being fed information and repeat it here, but do they ever get called plants? As they say, one man's terroist is another man's freedom fighter!!!

Who decides whether a deed is good or not? Again it comes down to an agenda. I am sure the NAZIs thought they were doing the world a favour when they introduced their own brand of ethnic cleansing. An extreme example but I am sure you get my drift.

How do you define success? For me this season it would be staying out of administration and avoiding relegation. If he does that, sorted. For all we know he might have had a great deal of success in keeping the club afloat. Some say we would already be in administration if he and Cowan had not returned. True of not I don't know. If brining through the kids was an aim of the club then that too has happened so you could say in some perverse way that was a success. Whatever. If the club does not go into admin. in February as suggested here and if Wotte manages to turn things round on the pitch, I won't be complaining.

I don't think that they are equal Wes but the principle is the same. They are both using others to feed their agendas to the forum. It is just that one paid people to do it and one uses well know and respected posters who they know will get a good hearing. Two lots of Trojan horses but one bought and paid for an the other home grown.
-
Of course because what might be seen as good (and necessary) by some will not be seen as so by others with a certain agenda.
-
No I don't but then if you read certain newspapers you will know their agenda. For example you know where the Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mirror are coming from. You know that they will spin things in a certain way so you can read them with that in mind. The last place in the world I expect to find impartial views is on an football internet forum, but it is always helpful to know where the information is coming from isn't it? For example, Crouch has an issue with the way the club is being run so he will feed information here that supports his agenda. It may well be that certain things are being done in a certain way because of the financial situation, but it isnot in his interest to promote unity and stability - hence before the new manager has even taken charge of his first match we get negative stories about him leaked on here. Those with a certain agenda lap it up, but how does that help a club in trouble? Just makes things worse. Same with the right wing media, they are loving Gordon Brown's discomfort but how does that help the country in the long run? Will their man be better at running the economy in these circumstances? Maybe, maybe not. But they will have us belive he can because that is their agenda.
