I think you’re totally right. Hughes has been great at Stoke and just as good for Saints. I’m buzzing as a supporter of Hughes right now and I can’t wait for him to get yet another 3 points.
-
Come on chill out as it’s hardly life or death?
-
I’m sorry but Hughes has got to go. You can blame it on Reed as much as you want but when you look at the results he got at Stoke and then compare it to us nothing is going to change.
-
Okay we know we are crap but you can still have a laugh about it. Make us smile with a Saints joke. Little boy to Santa ‘Can I have a unicorn for Christmas.?’ Santa ‘Come on, be realistic.’ Little boy ‘Okay can you give Saints a home win today?’ Santa ‘What colour do you want the unicorn to be?’
-
Totally agree. Who is Shane to tell him what to do when he can't even hit the target in 50 ****ing matches.
-
I suppose the atmosphere would still feel the same?
-
I reckon Hughes is on his way too and that Reed admits he keeps making the wrong decisions.
-
The only changes I’ve noticed at training this week is the players are having a few 11 a side matches against some red cones. Currently the cones are 3-1 up.
-
And not beating a poor Newcastle team at home proves that this record is going to get worse.
-
Long scoring twice?!? I would take it back as it’s faulty.
-
Yesssss, that will be a doodle.
-
Hull City? Chester City? Norwich City? Which one as I’ve no idea who’s left in the cup?
-
City have not conceded a goal since Sept the first, Saints have not scored since I can’t remember? Certainly can see that carrying on when they play us.

What we need to do in the short term, to fix the first team

Just to add. I watched them training recently and the only ones who stayed behind for extra practice was Sims, Taggert and Gallagher. The rest probably couldn’t wait to get away to the races or bookies. -

Love the title and I would go as far as this. Double training!! After your morning session the players come back for two hours of speciality. Defending, forward play and fitness. The players can moan as much as they like but in the long term they will see the bigger picyure. -
I’ve just seen the league table, I think Hughes has got it right. Don’t score and don’t concede any goals will see us safe. Quite exciting really knowing we will stay in the premiership for another year.
-
I only do that when we win. My wood burner is covered in spider web and my Red has gone off.
-
Totally spot on. When you have players like Ings who went from looking super sharp to what he is now tells you training is not working.
-
TalkSPORT have got it 100% spot on about Saints.
-
Starting to worry about Ings as his sharpness is slowly fading. Thought at the start of the season our signings were good enough but it’s clear it’s not clicking?

Southampton's wretched home form a recipe for relegation

Spot on but we can all dream can’t we. -

The painful thing is we all hope things will turn around. Seriously this mess will not fix itself as it’s broken badly. Someone needs to act and do anything soon or we will be doomed much further than just relegation. -
Hughes must of done something to me? Yes he has as my team don’t win matches anymore and I’ve become a right grumpy bastard.
-
I’m pretty impressed with Derby and Arsenal this season and it’s no coincidence they have new managers. I know we are not going to get rid of Reed and the other muppets but at least shift Hughes on. Cant remember the last time I watched a game and proudly walked out being impressed with my team. The football Arsenal played the other night was breathtaking and it’s all because they got rid of that dinosaur Wenger.
-
You would think we will win but I just can’t see it. So many ****e teams that have visited St Mary’s in the last two years have avoided defeat. This is going to be another one.
