Spot on. Lack of confidence and fitness for starters. Then we have a long floating ball going towards Carlllo and Gabby is running on hoping for a flick on. That long ball is going straight to a centre back. Start of the second half Boufal and Tadic need to swap and then on 60th minute Redmond and Sims come on for Boufal and Tadic. Keep one sub back for extra time.

Have Wigan got a weaken team as that Grigg guy is nowhere to be seen.
-
****ing yeah, What a team with Lemina or Holjberg as a holding midfielder so we don’t get over run in central midfield.
-
Would be funny if he plays with no strikers
-
I’m not sure we should because Pellegrino was bloody useless. It’s well known that Palace were poaching the only option Reed had after Tuchel fell through. I just hope he doesn’t make the same mistake again.

Hughes press conference coming up live on sky sports. According to a reporter at the ground the place has been buzzing with plenty of smiles all round.
-
I think Gabby has been his own worse enemy. I’m hoping that Hughes will give him the lift he needs and that Gabby will start training extra harder and stop moaning that he is home sick.

I love the bit where Hughesy gathers the players around him and points to the goal and says ‘That’s the ****ing goal over there, and when we get the ball we don’t ****ing pass it backwards you ****s.’

What "first Saints manager to..." does Hughes have?
Pilchards replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
The first Saints manager to have his first game as an FA cup match. Bet that’s right too. -
Hughesy to Kelvin ‘You can get a good feel of your balls in these pants.’
-
Make that 3. Reckon we will have a bit of money to spend too.
-
What did he say as I really did drift off. (Old age)

Impressive work OP, We are lucky to get Hughesy with 8 games left. If we go down it will be the boards fault not our temp managers.
-
Rather Hughes than Pellegrino when we visit them so they shouldn’t be laughing too loud.
-
Totally agree, lucky someone like Hughes can help us out of this mess.
-
Find it strange no other current player has put up a message saying ‘thanks blah blah to Pellegrino.’
-
My thoughts are that we were going to sack Pellegrino at the end of the season because he was so dire which was pretty obvious to see. Reed probably had an agreement on the next replacement with the promise of loads of the VVD money plus the sky money to spending in the EPL. This is the reason why we never sacked MP until it became pretty obvious he could not even get us over the safety line. Mark Hughes is the obvious choice short term to get us out of this mess with a handsome bonus if we survive plus he can send Stoke down with a smile. Win, win situation all round and Reed gets to appoint Brendon Rodgers for next season as he won’t stay another season with Celtic. BUT....... Let’s supposing Hughes does a job better than anyone would ever think he was capable of by taking us to the cup final and winning 50% of our remaining games. Does this change the situation?

Why don’t you take over from Les if you know better?
-
All this talk of Hughes coming in makes me think it’s a plant to divert away from who we really want.

Is there anything good we can say about Pellegrino?

It’s a place where you can’t reach the summit as the path way only goes side ways. -

Dropped him? That was 10 games too late. -
Do you think we gave MP a fair chance? Serously it looked like he was turning it around in the last 2 minutes of the Newcastle game.
-
We wish. The person coming in is pretty much already on his way IMHO. The search had already gone was in the statement, which suggests to me why MP has gone.

He looked good as a Sainsbury trolley boy. -
There is no longer an opening for Silva at Goodison Park and, despite reports linking him with a possible move to Benfica in his native Portugal, he has made it clear his prime ambition is to coach in the Premier League. The Mail
