Crimes against humanity, or simple black-market boot-legging?
ecuk268 replied to ooh it's a corner's topic in The Saints
I used to work with a guy who was the Treasurer of the Ex-Serviceman's Club in Archers Road. They used to show the Sky games for years, paying a couple of hundred quid a year. Then Sky upped the price to £5k. Not surprising that pubs went down an alternative route. -
Strangely enough, when Chris Nicholl was sacked there was a feeling among the fans that he would be replaced by Redknapp, who was making a name for himself at Bournemouth. He was to be assisted by Jimmy Case as player/coach. Ironically, when Branfoot sacked Jimmy, he went down to Dean Court to join Harry.

Interesting suggestion but how do avoid getting some of the utter incompetents that we have at the moment (Grayling, Fox, Bridgen, Chope, Abbott.... the list is endless. Educational attainment is no guide, there have been some very good MPs from modest backgrounds whereas some of the Eton lot have been disastrous.

She needs a good spanking.

Taking my nipper down to Staplewood, being able to wander in and watch the players training. Getting autographs and photos. Place is like a fortress now.

Most games kicking off at 3.00pm on a Saturday.

On BBC2 at 7.00 tonight featuring SFC.

I stopped calling people "Sir" when I left school, and that was a long time ago.
-
Remember being on the Milton Road terraces when we put 8 past Coventry whose left back was one Stuart Pearce.

Only if they allow him to spend a load of someone else's money.

Similar to the same inane questions at the end of every Sky live game. Geoff Shreeves: "How important was that win?" Manager: "Not important at all. In fact I'm rather disappointed that we didn't lose".

I see that the Government has had to pay Eurotunnel £33m due to "failing" Grayling's handling of the Brexit ferry fiasco. I know that the below website is meant to be satirical, but it does strike a chord: https://newsthump.com/2019/03/01/government-forced-to-pay-33m-to-eurotunnel-after-hiring-a-legal-defence-team-with-no-lawyers/ After today's damming report of the botched part privatisation of the Probation Service which cost us £500m and resulted in the contracts being terminated 14 months early, is there any Minister in recent memory more incompetent than Grayling. I believe that he was at University with the PM so maybe he has some compromising information about her. How else can he keep his job?

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
ecuk268 replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
This is all willy-waving by Sajid Javid. He's got one eye on the Tory leadership and thinks that his tough-guy image will appeal to the old fogeys who make up the party membership. It looks likely that the courts will eventually overturn his decision and she'll end up back here. -
Even more ironic in that Theresa May was charge of immigration in her years as Home Secretary and this was where she had the power to bring the numbers down, but she did absolutely nothing.
-
Indeed it was. Now Technical Director of the FA.

We know that Brexit voters were broadly in the intellectually-challenged category. Now you can see how you score: https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/politics/where-are-you-on-the-brexit-thickness-scale-20190222182770

You are all so negative. The multi-talented Liam Fox has agreed a trade deal with the Faroe Islands. Quite a relief, eh?
-
I'm sure that there are a few left-leaning Tories who'd be tempted but these breakaway groups rarely succeed. Having said that, Macron started his party in 2015 and 3 years later he was President.
-
We used to have a little sweepstake as to what minute he'd get his yellow card.
-
Don't worry about it. Liam Fox promised to sign 40 trade deals the second after we leave the EU. I'm sure that we have every confidence in him going by his record so far (he's managed one in two and a half years).

"Soubry is a Nazi" - hardly the epitome of intellectual debate. They'd have a job to muster one brain cell between the lot of them.

My missus told me that an extra 3 cms can make a lot of difference, and she's not even interested in football.

We're taking back control by paying millions of pounds to French and Dutch ferry companies and the one British company involved doesn't have any ships and have never operated a ferry service. Looks like another wizard wheeze by Failing Grayling.

Surely if they had been charged, the over-the-top publicity would have prejudiced a fair trial.
