I find it soft and absorbent.

It's the old debate about "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter". In 1948, the Zionist Irgun group bombed the King David hotel killing 91 people, mainly hotel staff. Netanyahu has called it a "legitimate target". A couple of days ago the Saudi-led coalition fired a rocket into a school bus in Yemen killing 29 children. In March they did the same to a crowded market killing 90. Why aren't the papers haranguing Theresa May to condemn the Saudis? She won't, of course because we flog them weapons. They are no different to those that are called terrorists, the outcome is the same. Yet all the tabloids can go on about is Corbyn being present at some obscure ceremony.

If you go to purgatory, you are made to suffer for your sins before eventually going to heaven. If you end up in hell, presumably that's it and your stuck there.

Especially Leave.EU who broke electoral law and lied about its spending and donations and are now facing a criminal investigation.

At the time of the Brexit vote, we had the highest growth of the G7 countries. We now have the lowest.

Tory Brexiteer Bernard Jenkin says that we needn't worry about a no-deal Brexit because it'll all be magically alright: "We will look back and wonder what all the fuss was about - a bit like the millennium bug, remember all the experts on the millennium bug?" The reason that Y2K had little impact was that thousands of man-hours and a good deal of cash was spent in '98 and '99 checking, and where necessary, modifying systems so that they would continue to operate. Obviously, we were all scaremongering and should have taken the Brexiteers approach of doing nothing and hoping it all worked OK.

San Francisco to launch registration of non-citizens to vote

I'm sure that the Daily Mail would love it. -
When you look at some of the tabloid coverage, they may have a point. Surely the biggest achievement of this tournament is a country with a population of 4 million getting to a World Cup final.

I managed to get both although only wanted the Saturday game. So if any non season-ticket holder wants a free Celta Vigo ticket in the Chapel, PM me.

Don't those meddling EU pen-pushers realise that we Brits enjoy being ripped off. Stiff upper lip and Dunkirk spirit and all that cobblers. http://newsthump.com/2018/07/02/loathsome-eu-bastards-insist-on-giving-british-holidaymakers-even-more-protection/

So where did that come from? Is it another USA import? So I find it really annoying and think that they should all be shot

And it's much better to have unsafe standing like the Northam and parts of every other Premiership ground. A fair amount of people want to stand so why not make sure that it's safe to do so rather than turning a blind eye as at present.

On a similar vein, I've just finished "Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar" by Simon Sebag Montefiore. It's basically the story of Stalin's life and of those around him. Quite a complex character both ruthless and sentimental. Like Hitler, he was often very kind to domestic servants and junior staff but quite unforgiving to his fellow politicians and senior military officers. Very readable if you like your history.

I was up on Level 5 level with the 18-yard box and it seemed quite full. It wasn't until I got home and watched a bit on the TV that I saw the vast empty spaces higher up. Yes' it's been a crap season but I'm surprised that more people didn't take the chance to see Saints play at Wembley. It might not happen again for a while.

Well put. Both my dad and my brother would have been there if they hadn't succumbed to the Big C (in my dad's case, many years ago but my brother only a couple). Although we all get so worked up about it , it doesn't really matter when compared to real life. Make the most of your time and enjoy the day.

I think that Putin would make a quite good manager. I'm sure that he'd motivate the team.

Exactly. May said that it was the pictures of the children that convinced her to go ahead. But she was quite happy to refuse to take in 3000 Syrian children when local authorities had plans to accept them and the Commons had approved it. Probably didn't want to upset the Daily Mail.
