  1. Snowflakes. What's the world coming to when you can't show your old chap to a mother and her teenage daughter. I blame Brexit.

  3. Would they have to prove their size at the polling station to make sure that there was no padding?
  4. Have you any evidence of this or have you been overdosing on the Daily Mail? According to the Electoral Commission, there was 1 conviction in 2017 and 1 in 2018.
  5. I think that he's referring to Musk's decision to open an R&D Centre and his first European factory near Berlin. He was originally looking to locate the R&D centre and possibly the factory in the UK but has decided otherwise because of the Brexit chaos. Makes sense to site the factory within the market that you'll be selling to.
  6. Studies in the US, Sweden and New Zealand has shown companies adopting a 4-day week have seen productivity increases of around 20% as well as a happier workforce. it may not be practical for all types of work but the idea that if people work less hours then they will produce less is a simplistic view.

  8. Indeed. There seems to be a strange obsession with horses among some of our members.
  9. I see what you did there. You called the Lib Dems the Lib Dumbs. Hilarious! Oscar Wilde's got nothing on you, has he?
  10. We'd have to find somewhere else to park our Trident subs.
  11. Shouldn't there be rioting on the streets today? https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/brexit/10041389/james-cleverly-says-there-will-be-riots-if-brexit-is-blocked/
  12. Under Cortese we would probably have gone bust. He was spending money that we didn't have.
  13. Easy to say but you can only shift players if someone wants to buy them. Has anyone ever made a bid for JWP?
  14. Because you turn up at the next game hoping things will have changed and that there'll be a positive result. It's the hope that kills you.
  15. Congratulations. Your post was included in "The Fan Matrix" in yesterdays i newspaper.
  16. This sums it up: https://newsthump.com/2019/10/22/sajid-javid-woos-leave-voters-by-promising-he-will-be-as-pig-ignorant-of-economic-reality-as-they-are/
  17. He said: "No Tory could ever support a border in the Irish Sea". Boris supports a border in the Irish Sea. Does this mean he's not a Tory? No, it's another lie.
  18. I think that Boris is the only one to have been sacked from 2 jobs for lying.
  19. Shouldn't he be "dead in a ditch" at the moment as that was what he said he'd prefer. Just another lie.
  20. A bit ironic that they chose to disrupt one of the most environmentally friendly forms of transport.
  21. It's interesting to see the demographic changes in NI. By around 2021 the Catholics will be in the majority with the Unionists being predominant in the older population and the Catholics in the younger. So it might take a few years but in 10 or 15 years time we might see a united Ireland.
  22. I recall that the Council wanted it to be more of a community facility to be used by other groups as well as SFC. The club weren't interested and wanted full control and for it to be just a football ground.
  23. Saw Emerson at the Guildhall when he was in the Nice.

    Bob Higgins

Article about Dave Merrington's concerns over Higgins. It seems that the club wanted to brush it all under the carpet once Higgins had resigned. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/10/13/special-report-didnt-southampton-have-responsibility-us-let/
  25. I was listening to an interview with a senior Greenpeace guy. He said that both Greenpeace and Friends of The Earth frequently hold well-attended marches regarding climate change. They are always on a weekend, they liaise with the police to agree routes etc, nobody is inconvenienced and therefore they are totally ignored by the TV and newspapers. ER have been very successful in their aim which is mainly publicity and getting government to sit up and take notice.
