  1. I'm in Block 16 so I'll also be in the Kids Zone. One option is to move into Blocks 17 - 21 but presumably a lot of the people from 22 - 28 (the new away seats) may also want to move there. I don't think that many of the current Chapel and Kingsland residents will want to stand as they tend to be a bit older.
  2. You think that racism should be beyond satire?

  4. That game brings back memories in that it was the first game that I took my 7-year old son to. Seven goals, a penalty and a 90th minute winner from Matt Le Tiss. He loved it, although I warned him that not every game was like that. However, he stuck with it and now takes his lad to St Marys (if it's not school the next day).
  5. Apparently his contract specifies a 12-month notice period. Could SFC enforce this? More likely to use it as a bargaining tool.
  6. Last season we had a net spend of £121m. Brighton spent £74m, Bournemouth £73m and Fulham £42m. The problem was that the first lot of expenditure in the September window was spent on mainly poor players, presumably on the advice of Mr Ankersen.
  7. Good to see that the fit-and-proper person test is working well.
  8. Glenn from the Total Saints Podcast has named it The Manning Chasm
  9. It was amusing listening to Mark Harper being questioned by Nick Ferrari about 30p Lee. He was asked about 5 times if Anderson's remarks were Islamophobic or racist but just kept repeating that they were "wrong". Like Dowden the day before he couldn't actually say what was wrong about them.
  10. How are the away fans who come by train going to get back to the station? Are they going to use Chapel Road, through St Marys churchyard and make their way across the parks? A good few thousand home fans use that route back to town or to the Ocean Village area so there could be problems there.
  11. I don't remember any great pressure for him to go. Maybe a bit of a victim of his own success in finishing 7th the season before. When he did go where was a hope that we could get Redknapp, who was making a bit of a name for himself at Bournemouth, with Jimmy Case as player/assistant manager. Instead we got Branfoot whose first act was to show Jimmy the door.
  12. This is worth a watch.. Very articulate and interesting character:
  13. Do you think that he had a wet-nurse? Probably still has one.
  14. Just been confirmed.
  15. You can park on Town Quay. I think it's about a fiver for 4 hours. The Platform had a fire last year but has now re-opened. Town Quay bus:
  16. Kingswood by-election today. The Reform Party candidate is one Rupert Lowe.
  17. Not the only problem: https://www.ft.com/content/ac26be66-7b85-40a3-b2b6-900256866fd9
  18. JWP not having a very good time against the Gooners. Not sure if he touched the ball more than 2 or 3 times in the first half.
  19. Generally, in this country we have policing by consent, ie most people obey the law. If enough people break the law the police are pretty powerless. If, on a march of say, 20000 people, 80% of them wore masks, what would happen? Maybe a few token arrests but each person detained has to be taken to a Police station and processed which takes manpower away from the march. It's totally unworkable and I'm sure that the police aren't particularly interested in enforcing it.
  20. Well, incidents of Rickets, malnutrition and Scurvy increased sharply last year, so he's definitely making progress. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/victorian-disease-gout-rickets-vitamin-d-mumps-scurvy-measles-malnutrition-nhs-hospital-admitted-a8795686.html
  21. I see that, out of the 5000 immigrants that were listed to go to Rwanda before the courts stopped it, 4300 have "vanished" and the Home Office have no idea where they are.
  22. My normal route to the ground is via Melbourne St along with a good few thousand others. I would guess that the away coaches would park in the bit of Melbourne St that leads out onto Marine Parade where they could then turn left and go up past the Stadium to Northam Road. Melbourne St gets quite congested after the match so maybe they will close it to home fans until after the coaches have gone as they sometimes do with the North car park. The other problem could be with away fans who come by train. Their most direct route back to the station is Northam Road. I can't see them being sent up Melbourne St to Chapel Road and up past St Mary's Church and then to find their way across the parks to the station. The only other way is along behind the Kingsland to to footbridge.
  23. I think it was because, at the end of the Covid-delayed season, he refused a month's extension to his contract which would have enabled hims to play Bournemouth's last few games and maybe escape relegation. He signed for Newcastle and sod's law saw Howe become manager there, so they were probably not the best of friends.
  24. They say that you should always be nice to people when you're on the way up because you'll probably meet them again when you're on the way down.
