You can see where this is going. Next time it'll be twice as many demonstrators with signs. There's a limit to how many arrests the police can make and it'll be dragging through the courts for ages.

It's very difficult to keep a player whose head (or his agent's) has been turned by one of the "big" clubs (see Liam Delap). If you keep him against his will he will possibly sulk and be sent to play with the reserves where his value will go down. Also his contract will be running down so you run the risk of him leaving for free. All clubs are selling clubs if the price is right.

There are exceptions. Needed a new passport in a hurry so used the same-day service. Most of it can be done online, including uploading a photo. You're then given an appointment time. So traveled up to London on Friday. Seen on time and showed old passport and proof of ID, Given a ticket with a return time 4 hours later. Went back at appointed time and picked up passport. Very efficient operation. No waiting and friendly and helpful staff.

I did it before I retired in 2016. I used a financial advisor that had been recommended and he did all the work. I now draw down a monthly payment from my SIPP and the financial advisor manages the lump sum. After 9 years the lump,sum is still the same as when I started, obviously gone down in real terms due to inflation but still sufficient for a good few years. I know people who manage their own SIPPs but they spend a lot of time researching and analysing the financial markets. I've not got the inclination or the ability to do this so I prefer to let a professional do it.
