  1. She could start a fight with her own reflection.
  2. The victim's solicitor is an interesting character: Yakoob, a director at Maurice Andrews Solicitors, in Birmingham, came under investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority this year after he used social media to promote a false claim of racism against a young teacher. He stood as an independent candidate in Birmingham Ladywood in the general election after coming third in the campaign for West Midlands mayor in May. He apologised in June after being criticised for saying on a podcast that “70% of hell is going to be women”, and for failing to condemn a guest saying he would give his wife a “backhander” if she made money dancing on TikTok.
  3. Just been looking at the availability for extra tickets for the Forest game. Most of them are the blocks either side of the away fans, just over 500. So, not many people moved to be next to the away fans.
  4. Can't seem to find much about the Tory Leadership Race on this thread. Perhaps we could create an Insults thread where the usual suspects can trade insults like kids in the school playground.
  5. Back to the days of bank robbers in Mk2 Jags.
  6. No sign of Charlie Alcaraz and presumably we're talking to Newcastle about the Wee Man.
  7. Can imagine her being popular with the membership which is mainly elderly, white and male but would probably meet resistance from the MPs.
  8. "We advise all fans to download the Saints Ticket app if they are able to. Any fans who do not have a smartphone or those with accessible needs will be able to request a physical Season Ticket card if needed. We will communicate a specific window when supporters can contact our Ticket Office to request this. Junior fans who may not have a smartphone will be able to store tickets on their registered adult’s smartphone within the new app. A discretionary charge of £10.00 per Season Ticket may be applied on a case-by-case review".
  9. You can get an old-style card but they might charge you a tenner.
  10. The question was very simplistic. Maybe he should have been asked "What are you going to do for communities that have poor housing, few facilities for pre-school children, over-subscribed GP practices etc regardless of ethnicity"?
  11. A bit of light relief. Sherry drinkers vote Conservative.
  12. Money will get you private schools. smaller classes etc. Mrs ecuk268 spent her working life as an infant teacher, mainly reception class and specialising in teaching reading. Some kids came into reception able to read simple sentences whilst some others had never seen a book. Money makes a difference but so does parental attitudes.
  13. Judged on merit if you've had equal opportunities in your formative years.
  14. Growth figures from pre-pandemic up to May 2024
  15. Jonathan Pie as perceptive as ever:
  16. I'm sure that'll get the votes rolling in.
  17. I parked at Gerrards Cross for £1.60. I hate smug people.
  18. I'm from a working-class background, passed the 11+ and went to grammar school in the 60's. Although our school had a wide spectrum of social classes we all got along ok and I never saw any cases of snobbery, inverted or otherwise. The main thing that it gave me was confidence. At the headmaster's welcome meeting he told us that we were there on merit, not because our parents had paid for us and we were as good as any children in the private schools. Society was more class conscious then so that was good to hear. As with others, there was no history of university education in our family so it wasn't until I was in my late twenties that I did my degree. Now retired but consider myself fortunate in that every job I've had (all involving technology in various forms) I've found interesting and generally enjoyed them. I'd hate to have had to get up in the morning to do a job that I hated or was boring. What good education gives you is choice of where you want to go and what path you wish to take in life.
  19. If there are any statistics nerds like me on here this is a very interesting site regarding polling and forecasts etc. https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/homepage.html If uses a more granular approach by looking at each constituency in depth rather than using the UNS method (Uniform National Swing) which just assumes that a change of vote share is the same across the country.
  20. Rishi has now said that OWTS is his favourite song. Shame he couldn't make the Playoff Final. Probably left it too late to get a ticket, although some had unkindly said that he was advised against going as it wouldn't look good if he got jeered at Wembley.
  21. Fraser Nelson, in that pinko rag The Spectator, did an analysis of the Tories plans using the same methodology and came up with an increase of £3000.
  22. I relied on a friend to renew our 2 tickets. However, the seats we agreed on had gone so he went ahead and got 2 others. Looking at them they are too low down for my taste. I'll give it a go but is it possible to move a season ticket after the season has started?
  23. I've got to move from Block 16 and shouldn't have been able to do it until this morning, but I did it yesterday.
  24. A lot of slightly older and cheaper smartphones don't support NFC.
