I did a tour of SMS given by the builders just before it was completed. They said that expansion would cost approx £1000 per seat (2001 prices), so it's presumably a bit more now. I assume that NC would need to confident that we were firmly established in the PL before considering expansion.

Benayoun is apparently off to West Ham (maybe).

The thing that really surprised me was how completely it changes your life. No matter how many friends or relatives you may have with kids you can still have no idea what it's like until it happens to you. I found the first 6 months a bit boring but, after that, it's fascinating watching them grow up. They're like little sponges soaking up knowledge.

Enjoy it while you can. They grow up incredibly fast. From when my nipper was about 6 till about 12, every weekend, rain or shine, saw us kicking a ball around on the Common or the park. When he eventually preferred doing it with his mates instead of me, I really missed it.

The public address was rubbish when we moved in 2001 and it's still rubbish. Couldn't understand a word today.

Started my lad off with reserve games when they used to be played at The Dell. He was about 6 when he saw his 1st real game (a 4-3 win against Ipswich). Even though I told him that not all games are like that, he was hooked and has had a season ticket for years.

Apparently, the lovely KP is in the Surrey team for Sunday. I'm sure he'll receive a warm welcome(!)

Went up to the Triathalon in Hyde Park on Tuesday. As well as being deafened by 3 helicopters overhead, they felt the need to blast out music the minute the commentary stopped. Seems to be a growing trend. At least Test cricket hasn't succumbed.....yet.
