I'm sure that, once Harry does a few transfer deals, his "income" will increase dramatically (probably without the knowledge of HMRC).

To add a few more: Shearer's hat-trick on his debut against the Arse. Beating Coventry 8-2 in '84 ( A young Stuart Pearce at left-back for them). The '84 semi-final at Highbury (not a good day). Hearing Mark Wright's leg break at White Hart Lane in the '86 semi against Liverpool. Dellhurst - seeing Clapham Junction packed with Saints fans and coming out of South Norwood station to a sea of red and white.

20 years ago John major said that the press were "drinking in the last-chance saloon". Not got any better have they? Self-regulation via the PCC has been a joke. Any regulatory body needs to be independent of the press and of government, but it should have judicial powers, not through Ofcom but by a senior Judge (or a small panel of Judges).

When he announced the Leveson inquiry, Cameron said that he would implement all it's recommendations unless they were "bonkers". Then again, he also said, before the last election, that "there will be no top-down re-organisation of the NHS". Telling the truth isn't one of his strong points (I suppose that's why he's in politics.

The Albion Band and the big canvas pocket thing they carried round to throw your coins in. -
Spotted a few continuity errors. A couple of episodes ago the daughter was walking into college with her boyfriend and the camera was alternating between front and rear views. When the scene was shot from the front, the weather was bright and sunny but, when seen from behind, it was dull and cloudy.

Pete King in Salem St Shirley. Honest bloke (also an SFC season ticket holder).

Didn't Matt Robinson give up football and go to play for P*mpey??

I heard it from a friend of the person who walks Cortese's window cleaner's dog.

A couple of weekends ago I forgot to lock the car which was parked on the drive. Came out in the morning to find that the contents of the glovebox and door pockets strewn across the seats. They only took a tatty pair of gloves, a plastic ice scraper and a wind-up torch. Didn't take any of my CDs or my waterproof jacket. Mrs ecuk268 said "What a coincidence that they tried your car on the one occasion that it was unlocked". Reported it on the 101 number and had a visit from the law. They said it's quite common for thieves to go down a road late at night and routinely try the doors on all the cars parked on the street or in driveways.

I see that one polling station in Gwent had precisely zero voters.

Why do they want credit card details? -
Agreed. Did The Hobbit at school in the 60's, read Lord of the Rings in the early 70's but found The Silmarillion pretty hard going.

"I Am The Secret Footballer". Interesting account of the life of a recently retired Premiership player (no one appears to know who he is) who has written a weekly column in the Guardian.

It's frightening when you spend a fortune on a state-of-the-art TV and 12 months later it's 100's of pounds cheaper.

Entwistle's downfall was sealed by an interview on Radio 4 yesterday when John Humphries (his own employee) tore him apart. When the phone-hacking scandal broke, all News International did was to lie and try to deceive. Why didn't The Times do an in-depth investigation from inside the organisation?

It's never been any other way. Clive Ponting's book "1940" details how Churchill was royally shafted over lend-lease by Roosevelt and throughout the Cold War the US was determined to ensure that any conflict short of all out war would be fought in Europe.

Who has come up with the brilliant suggestion that if a team goes 4-0 down, they should be able to bring on a 12th player.
