Guess that one has gone by the board then, the lad has been saved a world of hurt not having to attend that conference! Would you expect any less from our tosspot dictator
-
At least he had the decency not to say integrity, hope this is the first of many press conferences during which he is appologising starting with one on Monday for our thrashing at home by Everton.
-
Honestly rght now I don't much care if we do go down, if Cortese is going to treat the club like his personal play thing then maybe it's time he play thing got broken.
-
How can you say that the way I feel is total bo11ox? I just think that the club is more than bricks and mortar and the 11 players on the pitch, I liked it when our club was respected for doing things the right way and for me a part of what made Southampton FC dies today with such a disgraceful low blow.
-
So what is going to happen Monday will he pick his captain and then get him to choose the side? Maybe the translator will do it?
-
To me it does feel worse, I love the club but part of that has died today and I'm not sure it will come back. The club may have been in danger of going out of existence but today it is in danger of selling it's soul the very thing that makes us fans in the first place.

Are you all genuinely surprised or did you expect it?

This a thousand times over, Cotese had the perfect oppertunity to pull the trigger earler in the season and the passing of Adkins while mourned would not have stirred up the outrage of every right thinking football fun in the country. Instead he waits 3 months for Adkins to be making progress and things to be looking good and then out of the blue pulls the trigger this morning the timming is bonkers but I never thought Adkins was the long term man for Cortese even if he was a good fit for the club. Saints suddenly no longer feels like my club abit like when the dunk hunter and Wilde teamed up just before relegation and weird decisions were made. -
But Saints are not bigger than one spoiled Italian brat?
-
Screw the club, Screw the team this is not the Southampton way I hope the negativity this produces sends us spiraling back down to the championship it's the least the club deserves for stooping so low.
-
Yes but it's been known to happen before, if the players are hacked off and don't get the right feeling from the new man it only takes a tiny drop in motivation from a few key players for it all to fall apart at this level. Look at Spurs just before Harry went their good professional players with the wrong manager and system didn't work. Different circumstances I think the bond formed through the two promotions will be stronger than anything they had with Pardew, player like Lambert who Nigel has clearly stood by this season are going to take this pretty hard I'd imagine the reaction will be interesting.

Protests, booing, boycotts are Not going to Help us Move on

Are you nuts, together as one only when it's something you want to be part of and I have no desire to be part of this crap. -
Really hope he doesn't he seems far to decent for our morally bankrupt club if I were him I'd take the oppertunity to get a train to Liverpool for that trial afterall.
-
Couldn't care if he's fluent in over 8 million forms of communication he can still drop dead for all I care.

******, I hope we go down it's what we deserve. Would much rather the fans stood together and made the board and owners aware that this is not the behaviour expected of this club and we lost every game for the rest of the season than we happy clapped this nobody who's been parachuted in to the rightful place of a decent an honourable man. Cortese out, I'd rather we were back in admin. -
Wouldn't surprise me if he leaves in the next two weeks, rats and sinking ships? I know if I had the choice I'd want out of this mad house!
-
You always spout this rubish, please point out all the clubs that have gone out and got a worthwhile value for money quality signing in already this Jan? The transfer window works the way it does for a reason all the good business is always done late not early as clubs and players hold out for more money or better options etc. Stop your continual moaning about the same things it's sad and pathetic if you really hate the club as much as you say you do then please take your 'support' elsewhere we would be better off with out you you massive WUM.

Saints only club in PL without undersoil heating
a1ex2001 replied to once_bitterne's topic in The Saints
Why must you always be so negative it must make life really depressing! Yes 500K would be nice but I'm sure it would have cost as that much to install and run the heating for 12 years during which time it wouldn't have saved a single fixture so all that money would have been burnt for nothing and even now your moaning about a hyperthetical situation the game has not been called of and looking at the weather forcast for Southampton (ignoring the rest of the country!) it won't be. Get back in your box. -
Technically great really thought he was a great player in our nearly season.
-
I would have the sash kit back as our permanent home strip in a blink of an eye!
-
Worry about it if/when it happens I remember Jamie White being linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid at a similar age!

The picture you had on your wall is a cropped and processed edit, the origional is widly available with the appropriate horizon and much less contrast etc etc etc. One of the most heavily dubunked moon landing conpiracy photos yet still people peddle it! Yet again the classic conspiracy theorist approach pick a tiny bit and make a vague argument against it even though half of it supports the idea that man could have gone to the moon with out being cooked like a microwave chicken. It never stops amazing me how similar these discussions always are it doesn't matter what the conspiracy the discussion always follows the same route.
-
Classic conspiracy theorist ignoring one argument to focus on another and not really disproving it just disparaging it. There is plenty of information out their to prove the Van Allen belt wouldn't have killed anyone but sadly most of it is from Nasa so inadmissable in the conspiracy court because everything Nasa does is part of the conspiracy have a little bit of fun space maths though http://spacemath.gsfc.nasa.gov/weekly/3Page7.pdf However, I'll play along anyway. So you believe we couldn't put a man in moon orbit so Nasa pre recorded radio and TV footage which was sent to lunar orbit on an unmanned probe and fed back to the world with perfect timming to fit in excatly with what was going on live in mission control? We know the signals originated at the moon because this is independantly verified by the UK and Russia. Given 1960's recording technology consisted of magnetic tapes and traditional film I find this pretty hard to believe don't you? Now to copy the conspiracy theorists template I will switch to something different! Japan, China and India claim to have photographed apollo landing sites at the location specified by Nasa what reson do you think they have for perpetuating the conspiracy? Maybe all three counries are in on it? Japan you might be able to convince me of as they are heavily reliant on US military protection but China and India surely they would much rather be able to say that they found no evidence so they could laugh in the face of Americas superior achievments?
-
I'd say with 1960's technology it was definitely harder to make a convincing movie about going to the moon than it was to pull off the fake, especially when you consider we know the transmissions were sent from the moon/lunar orbit (confirmed by Russia and the UK) so to pull it off everything including the simple conversations would have to have been pre recorded and then played back with perfect timming? Unless of course you concede that Nasa put the necessary people into Lunar orbit but then that would destroy the theory about Van Allen belt Radiation and solar flares? Only we know that those reasons are rubish and that even Van Allen himself has said it is perfectly possible for a person to survive transit of the Van Allen belt and we also have confirmation that their was no significant solar flare activity during any of the moon missions. It is the simple fact that people Like Jared White still cling to the Van Allen belt nonsense when even the man who discovered it disagrees with them that make the whole conspiracy theory unbelievable.
-
The trouble is he has a point, like all good conspiracy theorists you gloss over the awkward questions or the points that go against your theory and instead throw up something else each time obsessing over particular details that are hard to prove either way and ignoring the glaring holes in most arguments. The interent is full of brilliant debunkings by proper scientists of all the major moon landing conspiracy theories if you care to read them what I fail to understand is how this thread got locked into and endless loop about the type of dust and the irrelevant reflectors.
-
To some up this thread: Person1 'It's all fake the biggest conspiracy in history' Person2 'No it's not it's all real' Person1 'I have no conclusive evidence but don't believe you and I have the backing of some internet nut jobs' Person2 'I have no conclusive evidence but don't believe you but I have the backing of huge numbers of experts and the sworn testimony of the men who went' Rinse and repeat endlessly. Personally I believe they happened the conspiracy theory is just too far fetched for me and I believe the weight of evidence is in favour. I could obviously be convinced other wise if some does a 'google earth' of the moon and there is no evidence then i'm sold but lets be honest if the Chinese or Russian governments really thought it didn't happen there would be a dozen probes on their way right now to prove it as the propoganda coup would be imense.
