Saints finish season with £110m+ 'prize money'
OldNick replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Long term we will be so far behind if things stay as they are anyway. The big 6 will be already making plans how to take more of the pot. Saints are not fit for purpose at present. As for raiding us, it is pretty obvious that they only have to speak to an agent and they are immediately unsettled and gone. We havent got anybody good enough for that case at present. -

No doubt, but it would be without the big 6 and so the rest would be competitive needing less money to do so. I grew up seeing Saints, Villa Forest , Derby , Ipswich , etc competing for the league. Yes Man u and Liverpool were strong and had a smaller advantage, but the league and games were far more even. -

The gap gets bigger a I saw what the CL clubs got this season and they got the same again as we received. The gulf is just getting bigger and bigger. Perhaps a breakaway league would be best for us all -
Amazing, I would think having a hologram would have been the best option. Granty posted that probably once the QR code was used once, it would stop any others of that code, so if someone holding the counter fit arrived before the genuine ticket , it would make the genuine one null and void (I hope that is how he put it)

Seems to me that there were a lot of fans who travelled without tickets. I was listening to a podcast today and apparently at a final before, the gates were opened to let all in. By doing this it just encouraged people in the future to turn up. I dislike Liverpool as much as anybody but they general fan was well behaved and treated appallingly. Anyone who had been at Hillsborough will have had terrible flashbacks

its not really my field of expertise, I would suggest it is a good thing to own. I have a cursory knowledge on this subject. My field is Antiques

you need punk and edgy 70/80's music for them to have value, really

Total Saints Podcast - Episode 200 Live Show
OldNick replied to TotalSaintsPod's topic in The Saints
Another enjoyable listen. Interesting that Dan said Ralph was not interested in any of the coaches giving him advice/feedback. There was another Austrian who liked total control some time ago, that went well -
He has always hated KD. Im sure there are no tissues left in the house since the news was announced.
-
Amazing that he was the player poleaxed but still able to sprint to the ball after their keepers punt upfield
-
Crikey, that is a strong league. I wont be joining that lol I finished 3rd in the The Saints Patron championship, and 57th in Saintweb forum. Lost to a Brighton fan who finished in top 100k in another league, and 2nd in an Australian league. Am told he has some kind of App programme that helps him!! Not sure how. I joined some other random league and won it. I have no idea who gave me the link lol
-
Fans also sing about Pompey, no problem. You may like Liverpool, I myself despise them and their manager and was delighted they didnt win the league
-
Dyche ffs, you never have been a judge DT lol
-
The league has just finished and a Saints fan on the SaintsForum has finished 201 in the world. That is with nearly 9m players! Fantastic achievement. My first season and 236,508 in the world. It is an engrossing game, and if you haven't done it worth a go.

Maddison is in a different league to Moi

If he was cheeky in a post match interview he would have had a job for life

No doubt a windfall tax will come into play, but IMO it will only get passed on. We need the oil companies to open up more wells and get production back up again in the North Sea. More production can only help with the world oil price, that in turn helps the cost of living. Penalising the oil companies, who are under pressure due to the green lobby, only will make them less ambitious. Brexit has had its costs that have been passed on by logistics companies, food importers etc etc. Any of you who have experience of exporting/importing will have seen the extra costs that have added to the cost of living. As China and India become wealthier, as they develop the taste for meat and dairy products, this in turn will mean that the worlds commodity price for such things is going to push up. Cheap food, energy will be something we will only pass on as stories to our grandchildren. Obviously Ukraines importance of producing food etc is a factor

Call me old fashioned but a goal keepers no 1 attribute should be actually stopping the ball going into the net. Modern football now needs a keeper to be able to pass and comfortable on the ball, it would be great if the same could be expected of or defenders and midfield.

Actually the whole squad are PL players. They may not be in your opinion, and with a large percentage they are not good enough, in my opinion either. It is not my attitude that has caused the spiral, it is the attitude of the club who have always sold our better players. Needs must I suppose. Im not McCarthys greatest fan, but I find it odd that our team goes out on the pitch and an important part of that team gets booed. Its counter productive to the teams chances. It must not have helped McCarthy and no doubt made him (and team edgy) I dont know of any club that would build a side around a defensive minded midfielder. Perhaps find a blend to compliment him by all means. I like a large part of the fan base are disengaged with this team, and cant see why all of a sudden again we have fallen off the cliff. Our fortunate win V Arsenal has been a lifesaver. Iam amazed that Ralph came to the club with intimate knowledge of the German league, I fully expected some gems to be recruited from there, but no. Apparently he brings young players through.......4 years later the young players have in the main gone backwards or sideways. A pressing style that has now become inert
-
Considering what he has around him and his wonderful free kicks he deserves the nomination
-
Nathan interviewed after the game, thanked the fans and said next season we will do better. So I myself am very pleased he is staying, but like McCarthy it is always their fault we lose. I know its heresy to say but I wouldnt mind JWP leaving if we reinvested the funds well. He is fantastic at free kicks and gives his all, but IMO his lack of forward passes, and slow build up play stops our counter attacks. When did he last slot a ball through for one of our forwards to run onto? He is a fantastic player, and probably deserves to go to a side that his skill set fits in with. This is not an attack on him but just a personal opinion.

I think Kitchbicher is a video man apparently
-
Dont know, perhaps who leaked it or allowed it to be leaked. I think it was a member of the club who bragged to the Athletic what was happening
-
Ralph needs a right hand man to bounce ideas off, but unfortunately it seems to me he likes to dictate, I think there was another Austrian who liked total rule. Was Ralphs success in Germany down to his help with Rohl (?) I think who has gone onto bigger and better things. When the Athletic broadcast to the world that we had the 60min energy break I believe we were playing good and successful football. Then that was stopped and we fell away. I may be wrong and hopefully someone will know the timeline (MLG) to either confirm or deny. The same publication also announced the exclusive of FF leaving, why just before the Liverpool game, why not as the season finished?

SFC is not fit for purpose. No entertainment value and just cannon fodder for teams to come and destroy us for the cameras. IMO the new owners are as ambitious as the Katrina and Gao, 'sustainability' = Milk the club and us the mug fans who buy into it swallow the bile served up time and again. Watching that shell of a team was so depressing. I couldn't bear to watch a lot of it as it was obvious even a goal up we had no belief that we could win. It was a big chance to make us the headlines and for Sky to have to analysis us instead of 20 minutes after the game talk up their agenda to pressure Man City. Carragher Redknapp and kelly Cates all Liverpool, then BBC sport had the rat Lallana drooling over Klopp then a ten minute interview with the piano key toothed twat. This was a re run of the Cup semi final against Leicester where Ralph was more concerned in losing to a low score. I cant change the club I love, I just wish I hadn't been indoctrinated since i was 7 or 8 into it being the club of my dreams ( a long 55 years later). and will again have to put up with the patronising and smug Liverpool fans who are from around here.
