  1. Whilst my father was a Saints fan, it was my older brother who took me to the Dell when I was about 7. It's all his fault.
  2. I haven't yet had a reply of 'well go and support another team' that is a surprise. (I know what posts will now follow lol) Seems there is a silent swathe of fans who have lost/losing faith in the club. The lift we had signing the players has gone, as the obvious priority was missed of getting a goalscorer.
  3. I felt very uneasy posting that as it was a feeling of betrayal in a strange way. It really is pathetic that a business has become so ingrained into my soul that I have these feelings. Gone are the days of the kid who spent his whole-time worshipping Ron Davies and could never understand how Saints weren't classed as the best team in the world lol.
  4. I have got to the stage after following Saints for over 55 years that I now regret letting them become so important in my life. At times I dislike them so much as it really puts me in a poor mood for the weekend, I even try and avoid checking our score until the game has finished, but never manage to. I put the curse onto my 2 daughters and one granddaughter. My grandson whose father is a tepid Arsenal fan (now they are doing well) has bought him an Arsenal kit, in the past I would have made my displeasure of this very obvious, but now I am going to wave it through, as why should he have most of his weekends ruined by a club that really has no ambition, who are using us as an experiment and expect us to be happy with mediocrity. (not just the present owners)
  5. Well whatever back post Harland decides to go for a headed will be easy meat for him
  6. So are you implying that they can't improve their finishing? Whilst I understand that there are natural finishers, but perhaps there could/should be a way of coaching ones without the natural ability to enhance what they have. Perhaps spending hours after training using the right foot to try and be double footed, to spend hours one on one with a keeper learning how to do so. I read with a bit of surprise sometime back that JWP said he doesn't spend hours practising his free kicks, but just does 10 or so at the end of a training session. Perhaps that is a reason why he is not quite so sharp as he was with them.
  7. I do agree but he is so close to being the next level up, getting a little cuter would perhaps make a difference.

It would work if you have a nuclear missile under your arm
  9. Have we a specialist coach for the strikers? We have one for set pieces and goalkeepers, why not have somebody coaching the striker to score, to get their mindset right and focus for shooting
  10. So sad, only now are the Brexiteers seeing the error of their vote. Sadly they will not admit it and will see their dream of an independent UK become, and Independent England that will be miniscule in the big world picture as France and Germany become the real powers the world listen to. All was done with the best intentions in mind but foolhardy. Having the world market sounds great, but try and export to say Brazil and see their import duties and tariffs that are eye watering. I know this from my own experience recently
  11. Interesting that Ralph was praising the fans, yes that old trick to bring the gullible back in line. Lampard does this time and again, they lap it up.
  12. I watched Smallbone play against Watford yesterday, it was a depressingly poor performance by him sadly
  13. I have just vomited over my computer, then I looked at the poster and thought 'Thank god' it won't be true. 😀😀
  14. Where's MLG when I need him? Ohh he's been chased off the board lol
  15. That is a surprise that many. I assume that includes worldy free kicks and penalties. Take those out and what do we have?
  16. Perhaps it also doesn't help when you have your midfield is more interested in playing back or sideways. When do we get a pass slid through for a forward to run onto? Rarely or never, as by the time the ball is going forward the other team have 6 or 7 players back.
  17. Naughty, but perhaps a little grain of truth in that
  18. He came with a reputation of improving young players. I fail to see one that has. I expected his knowledge of the German leagues to bring a few in, but didnt. He has let the more expereinced players leave and now a team like Villa bullied our kids. This will happen in any crunch game as there is not a minder like Oriel to sort the opposition. Many don't like Redmond but Im sure he would have done something in the last 3 games positive. He it seems was too vocal for the dictator that Ralph to my mind seems to be, and so pushed him out
  19. 😃 I tried but I was too accurate with my forecasts
  20. I can't see why the worry, the institutions will know all the figures anyway, and the masses will listen to the strapline and then switch over to Strictly or Coronation Street.

obviously, every other club did as we finished so high. You cant go by one season saying 'well we finished on 46 points' and usually that would be rubbish. There are seasons no doubt where we could get 50+ points and finish in the bottom half. Fact is that season 46 points got us 8th place. Some very decent results in amongt , plus some poor ones, aka every bloddy season I have ever watched Saints
  22. I agree, but I wouldnt have any faith in Corbyns lot to have got anywhere. Listening to the rant from the Shadow Chncellor last night also made me uneasy. Using the same tripe as the Brexiteers to gain favour 'We will put all that money into the NHS' ffs. You put 100bn more in and it still would run the same as it is basically poorly run

I do as he would have been able to get players in. All the clubs below 8th would also have to pull their socks up, which of course they did

The 2nd quote was not from me. The 6 of the llast 7 games was as I said where we missed multiple chances in these games
  25. Not sure what you are getting at, but I doubt if you are importing or exporting to see the allied costs that is adding to every product we are buying or selling. All added to the price structure. We are shedding good profitable businesses to Europe as they can sell their goods without the add ons. The shelled fish businesses are relocating to Denmark etc, their profits and taxes going to other exchequers not ours. I have been unable to send much into Europe due to the added costs, and many of my colleagues likewise. It is a mess, perfect storm really Covid, Ukraine, Brexit, Fuel, and commodity prices going up.
