Ings will not guarantee us staying up, but he would improve our chances. Problem is we are saddling ourselves with another big salary for 4 years, that will in time weigh us down if he is not firing. Those injuries from his past will surely slow him as he gets older. Tell him to sign or go I suggest

It seems to me that the club are moving the fans mindset to accept Ings going. I feel it is sad tht Danny may leave us in a position that it is too late to replace him. I remember when there was talk of keegan leaving, that he came out to say he was staying and that helped with season ticket sales. A week or so later he had walked.

IMHO the name/slogan 'Black Lives Matter' was always going to grate with people out there. It is obvious that people believe all lives matter, thinking why are black lives more important. Of course it wasnt that Black lives matter more, but that is how I think people perceived it the slogan as. Add to that the more extreme political side of this movement seemingly taking it over. I have no problem people taking the knee ( I personally wont as I dont think I need to)but I wonder if a lot of the players are taking the knee due to peer pressure. Not that they are racist. In my own business I put up a picture on Instagram of the 3 players were abused saying that I was proud them wearing the England shirt, and had only one follower who complained I had made a political statement. Change the name and Iam sure there would be a better response. It is time for social media to be sorted out so such pigs can be caught/shamed. I suggest the 2 or 3 who have been found have now a lifetime to realise their studidity and their liveswill never be the same again

If Ings is thinking of leaving for SPurs etc the best thing for us is that he sorts it soonest so that we are not scrabbling at the end trying to find a replacement. One thing is for sure is that Spurs will get him for a song as that what Levy does to us.

Another of my boyhood heroes gone, so sad that the march of time is taking them RIP
-
He'll sign if no other club comes in for him lol. Cake and eat it comes to mind. Give him a deadline and if he doesnt sign withdraw the offer. His old contract will still be valid for a season and the club will sav some money. He will stil have to give his all to ge others to keep their interest once his contract runs down. Im tired of the players power

It is madness that people like Vanessa Feltz is paid £400k a year, Zoe Ball (world class presenter according to the Beeb!)£1.2m. It makes me mad seeing these people get such high fees. Iam sure you could get people to present the programmes for a quarter and would be just as good. I only want to tune in to listen to a few tunes, not to listen to their inane chat.

The more I think about it paying £100k PW for 4 years is hell of a commitment and taking large sums from our potential budget. I still feel keep him for a season and let him go on a free. To still be paying him those wages at 32-33years old does seem pretty strong
-
He's foreign so he must be good. To me he has been hanging around for other clubs to come in for him and perhaps its telling they haven't. I still believe we miss looking at our own lower leagues where there are some good players

I was happy with Puel but unhappy with Southgate, although his last game showed some promise

I keep banging on about Grimes, think he is a decent player

We may think Villa are at a similar level than us but they are a much bigger club steeped in real history Champions of Europe. To us pulling on a Saints shirt couldnt become a chore but JWP may have ambition and Villa have a vibrant team onthe up. Who of us really believe we are in that bracket at present??? JWP probably feels that the Euro snub is a nail in his coffin for England but may feel going to Villa might give him a bit more credence. £30+ million will be tempting to the club and whilst they will say hes not for sale Im sure they will do if the money is right and gives us the chance to spend on a few other players tofreshenus up

Reminds me of us when Lowe opted for Stuart Gray instead of going for Moyes or another at the time. Wanted the cheap 'loyalty ' option lol

what is your user name on twitter just in case I dont follow you?

god, reading the comments from Ralph is depressing, we may 2 or 3 including loans. I really am surprised that Ralph hasnt unearthed some gems from his Austrian and German footballing background
-
Personally having all these players leave who have failed in the past may not be a bad thing. If they select well they could come out of it stronger. It depends how good judges the Cowleys are
-
What do you think would win a fight between a lemon tart or a one legged giraffe. Now tell me there are no stupid questions lol

I suspect the amount of players released tells us something about clubs finances. Im sure there are many players released every season but I cant recall as many who are so called 'names'
-
Sorry I cant recall many defence splitting passes, slide rule balls but I may be too harsh. The goals I assume were mainly freekicks? He is foremost a defensive midfielder and tidy on the ball, but do you not feel he should press forward more and actually make more attacking play?
-
He gave the penalty though

Listening to someone who has first hand knowledge of how the academy is working now worried me quite a lot. Not very well organised and not much focus apparently.
-
In the current market 30+ is a very good fee, but I agree with the rest you say
-
I also wonder if this disappointment may effect JWP's performances next season and his desire may slip. I remember MLT not quite reach teh same heights after Hoddle messed his head.
-
Personally a 30-40m fee if offered should be accepted. Get a bit of money in and get a freshness to some parts of the squad. JWP is exceptional in some areas, but he does not play a killer ball in open play and rarely gets into goal scoring positions. For someone who strikes a dead ball so well, he's pretty poor shooting a moving ball
-
When he subbed JWP last night the way he greeted him as he went gave me then the feeling that it was a thank you and goodbye thing
