It depends who is assessing who to take on. Its like on here there are some who you respect in their judgement and others who haven't a clue. So if we are getting players in by, poor judges of players abilities, that is where the problem lies. That is why some managers are so good as they can see a player. In theory a keeper can come out for every cross, I think you are the only poster on here claiming that McCarthy was in the wrong on this. The ball was crossed from about 15 yards out, not from the byline. it seems you will do anything to keep any blame from Cedric. He is an average full back for us, who today made a couple of good crosses, but he also made some awful ones. He has been poor with his crossing all season BTW. Please inform of his other decent crosses , as you mention he did many decent ones. I recall the really horrendous one, but there must have been another as you said one landed on the penalty spot after missing our forward.

you are wrong in both counts. The frigging cross went into touch for a throw, the penalty spot would have needed to be 30ft in the air, and watch the cross again, it was not an easy catch for the keeper .OK Greenidge:lol:

it was a cross that would not be easy to take, you make out as though it came across the box in front of him. Cedrics job isn't just the odd decent cross, he had put at least one about 10 ft over the attackers.

Personally I thought he didn't have that option. The cross should have been stopped Tadic is not a defender and let Iwobi cross it in. McCarthy is not to blame for our defeat, he kept us in the game with a couple of good saves, especially the Xhaka shot

I don't think he's the scapegoat, he is just been put in too soon. Considering he was complaining that VVD had got back in the team before him, shows an over opinion of his own talent. He is sometimes lax on the ball, but also doesn't seem to be able to read the flight of a cross and gets under them too often

At one stage Stephens was running back to the goal and seemed not to be concentrating and nearly got caught on the ball

Oh and their first goal, why didn't slide in, he surely eould have had a better chance of getting the ball

Wellbeck always does well against us. I thougth JWP did well, the 2nd half we were the better side.Tadic does create but he slows the attacks down. Should have taken him for the pace of Redmond. Yosh kept on instead of Stephens. It was risky changing us to zonal marking this late in the season. How did Iwobi get that cross in? Cedric was fouled but we should have dealt with it

Reed is one of those people,who you think how the hell has he got such a good job. It seems to me that there are certain people in the world who just know how to act when talking to people in power and ingratiate themselves to them. They then get rid of anybody who is a likely threat to them, to keep their place safe. Funnily enough I think their result today will help us, as the home fans have gone away happy, the Arsenal players can rest on their laurels again and play us between the 2 most important games they have this season. We have to turn up, but I fancy us to get at least a draw. That's jinxed us lol

Not everyone lives or was born in Southampton. As for the 2 promotions etc, there was football before the premier league and we spent 27 years in the top flight. So getting the promotions were wiping out the relegations before that. As for not wanting to swap for other clubs , ok most of them but there any many who have experienced a lot more. We don't know what it feels like to experience what the fans of top clubs feel, we've never had the chance. Anyway my daughter tells me that my grand daughter wont change and will be a Saint.
