[quote=edprice1984;2516297 Also, despite peoples protestations, there are a few names being banded about - Roberts (from City); Bitton and Armstrong (from Celtic) and Allan (from Napoli). What would people prefer a West Ham style 'everything done in the full glare of the media'; Saints current style which is largely played behind closed doors or a mix of the two? Knowing saints we will sell VVD and roll out the ' we already have the replacement'

ok thanks for that. The fees are not too punitive and the 2m if they get to the PL is nothing in real terms

[quote=Guided Missile;251 How did we let Germany dominate world trade, post WWII to the detriment of countries they tried to enslave? .because all of the German heavy industries and businesses never took the responsibility for their dealings with the Nazis. Krupp, Mercedes, Porsche, Hugo Boss ( he designed their uniforms) and many others who used slave labour to produce goods for their war effort at the same time earning a fortune, were allowed to carry on. I understand that they needed to rebuild their nation but we allowed Germany to dominate Europe . The German comedian Henning Wehn is happy to point out, who really won the war? I take on board your comments about the Unions etc in post war period decimating our industries with their strikes and militancy. Our management skills and product quality became rotten to the core . We left it for the Germans and Japanese to take our markets and I doubt we will ever compete again.

If we are in the EU Corbyn is not able by law to re nationalise. As for the Tories bad governance, surely they are following the democratic vote of exiting the EU. I don't like the result but you have to accept the majority view. The vote was basically worded in or out. I argued and tried to tellpeople what it all meant and early doors put a link showing the mess and terms we would be up against, but people didn't listen
-
oh yes I forgot about that. If it is still in place that is a major hurdle as the money received in the Championship is pretty high let alone the PL. It may be a problem for them
-
Perhaps that is why her published wealth has been reduced to 300m lol
-
I suspect Messi has his off days, MLT was dire at times. To me as soon as Coutinho comes on Liverpool come alive and his bright brain creates chances, as well as his wonderful goals. I don't know why I'm justifying him, as Barcelona offering 80m should tell you enough. Liverpool will lose their stand out player and also it shows the fans our hurt as well
-
Ok, but the 3rd richest owner was stated on the national media. If she is worth 300m whilst a lot of money, she really does need to sell if the club is to progress. http://www.wealthx.com/articles/2015/katharina-liebherr/ http://www.therichest.com/sports/soccer-sports/top-10-richest-english-premier-league-owners/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/sport-obituaries/7950756/Markus-Liebherr.html

The boat is on strike
-
that's an odd thing to say, unlike you Hutch. When you sign a player you don't know who is likely to be tapped up. Shane Long in the last part of RK's reign looked a world beater
-
well some are saying on here that she is worth 300m, I thought last season it was stated she was 3rd?? wealthiest owner
-
yes but is that not a similar stuation to our own.The article headline states that terms have been agreed. These things would upset the player and squad potentially like ourselves
-
reading the comments is funny. Nobody has mentioned to them that once Coutinho leaves their team has lost its talisman

I think you will find it was a tongue in cheek comment

I would have thought the moment any other club put an offer on the table it allows Liverpool to then make an approach. Whether the club could keep his gent quiet, but perhaps the club may do a deal with another behind closed doors. It is amazing how the fanbase quickly have decided that it is OK to sell VVD now, just a little murmur and the whole attitude changed . It serves the club quite well as they can now sell and look the innocent party, even though it would potentially mean that they have reneged on their pledge
-
that's not what DT was saying, it was a fact that we seem to aim low. It is hard to keep watchingus dvelop players for other clubs to get the benefit.
-
what about Leicester? I always in the past thought that we were on par or even bigger than Leicester but whilst they have yo-yo'd they have won far more than us in the last 20odd years. We could/should have done far more with the resources and players we had, let alone the finance backing us. We are content in being 7th -16th in the PL and feel that is some kind of medal. Then we get to a cup final and we sack the manager who got there. It really is a nonsense situation. Go into the league to win not just to be a bit part player. Our moment is gone now as the weakened top 6 have got their act together and oir window of opportunity has been lost as we wanted money in rather than actually go for it
-
tell how the increase in value actually helps you, a decrease in your S?T price, a share of the profits or just some reflected glory telling fans of Leicester etc that we brought those players through that now are winning things at other clubs?
-
So Chelsea don't want him as VvD said Liverpool was the only club he wanted to join. Hopefully another takes him on,or VVD does realise he has to put his head down here Yet another summer like last where we sleepwalk to a potential crisis. The spine of the team is probably the weakest for at least 3 seasons. We have sold a forward and replaced him with a youngster, that may turn out brilliant but it is concerning. the midfield have no goals in it and if Romeu got injured where is our ball winner?
-
I believe that our goalkeeping coach is the reason that we have had a string of nervous and poor goalkeepers.
-
Perhaps we can only buy if we sell first
-
Watching the Liverpool game and they mentioned Coutinho and how Barcelona want him and Newbon? said Liverpool had refused offe rand Coutinho has to get on with it as they werehis employers, then 20minutes later he mentioned VVD and put a different slant on that situation. The media just don't care
-
On a Liverpool site 'Southampton know the only reason for the improved contract was because it gave them extra leverage when it came to his transfer. Both parties agreed this. Same with us and Phil and Luis when he stayed the extra year. To think otherwise is folly. They are the ones reneging on the deal struck with VVD. Southampton want to sell but not to us. They wanted an auction but up to now they haven't got one and for that, wrongly, they blame Liverpool and are playing hardball to appease some of their gob****e fans who see us coming and shafting their club every season. They would rather sell to Everton than us. This deal is going to happen because VVD wants it to happen, simple as. Southampton are going to get top dollar but will make us sweat for a while'
