  1. Huddersfield, they deserve it
  2. I agree , iam actually looking forward to going saturday and may even arrive earlier than usual to sup up the good atmosphere.
  3. I suppose if people believe that the Twin Towers was a CIA conspiracy then they may believe Bin laden is alive. Personally i think the Yanks would not say he is dead when patently he only would have to show his face to discredit them. I suspect if the film is shown of his killing we can see if he was cowardly hiding behind his wife or if she threw herself in front of him to save him.
  4. 'Seeing Norwich fans celebrating last night I had a feeling of 'done that' - will they have 5 trips to Wembley in 2 years, finish 8th and 9th in successive seasons, win the FA Cup, compete in the UEFA Cup group stage?' A Pompey fan on their site This sums up exactly what i have felt all along. It doesn't matter what sanctions the club gets their 'long suffering fans 'Tm have the memories forever. This generation of pompey fans had experiences that 88 clubs fans would give their right arm for. They dont have any shame how they got those memories but just sup it all up. Who were right, the former owners of SFC who tried to do things by the book or the Pompey way. Perhaps Saints should have followed the Fratton way
  5. ok thanks
  6. are there any Foundation games?
  7. I think his psychology has been a big plus. Very early on he kept mentioning how the fans were backing the team, even though in my opinion they were lukewarm. He then upped that by saying how our backing had helped the team etc and that seemed to help change our more negative mindset when things were going badly to a positive. i have no doubt that a season or so ago , if we had been 2 goals down at home to MKDons we would have turned on the team. The fans that day were fantastic and instead of being negative sung the team to victory. Hence our home form has been impressive. if he did this to the fans mindset no doubt he was able to get the players minds in a positive frame and they showed real grit under pressure from Huddersfield run.
  8. installment plan back as ticket prices have doubled? the beer supplier has changed you can now get a pint pie and yorkie at a special price a Megastore sale and how we got promoted DVD Anything about the playing side......doubtful lol
  9. Interesting that Jonathan pearce said something on the same lines after we won the JPT
  10. it always amazes me how unenthusiastic the leaders who tell their followers about the 40 virgins, are not so keen to get there to meet them themselves.......it must be the thought of 40 mother in laws
  11. i can't remember that one, I must have missed it amongst all the stories of Tiger lolo
  12. well they gained my respect and I may have been bitter had we not gone up, but I for 1 hope they get their fair reward and gain promotion. I have never experienced such a battle where a team does not lose for 25 games and still fails to reap a reward
  13. When NA was appointed i felt it was a poor choice compared to having Eddie Howe. In the main I have been uninspired by him but i have to hold my hand and admit i was wrong. Well done yet again NC and your judgement spot on. Well done Nigel and let the bus roll on. I also was wrong about needing new players to guarantee promotion, as the injury to LB became a blessing in disguise as a fit Connelly injected more bite to our attack
  14. he still needs to get power in his shooting.
  15. good thinking Deppo, and spot on
  16. was at Charlton away. no segregation in those days!!! I can still see Alan balls chip and a groan from our fans as it looked as though it was going well over for it to drop in the net . great win At Orient and Dineage having to walk past the saints fans to go up on the gantry, did he get some stick. A wonderful night and the media had been saying that the Spurs fans were going to turn up to cheer orient on. No sign of them that night. Nearly as great as dellhurst park but not quite
  17. it seems Adkins was right as soon as you have to face a challenge you bottle it! If we could have got closer by playing the games we had called off earlier you lot may have cracked

    James Beattie

IMO RL is not really a target man in the same way as JB gets about. I believe RL likes to play further back and be a creator as well as a goalscorer hence he is never there on the end of crosses like JB used to be. I agree we should only get JB back if he took a low wage. Afterall he was part of the problem when we wet down as he wanted away.
  19. but surely that criticism should be pointed at LB as he is a supposed goal poacher. He is the quick mobile player to get those, but because he shows ' passion' Lol all the rest is forgotten
  20. we're doomed
  21. Oh, I feel sorrfy for his daughters they must have been upset.......wearing a Pompey shirt a right fashion faux pax
  22. I live opposite a village church and the bells are starting to toll, are we being invaded? Lol
  23. He set high standards early here, and I felt he was not as dominant in the air as people made out last season. In the main he was dominated by the centre backs but his football brain and all round ability set him apart. he also had a purple patch of scoring some great goals. I feel he is not a natural centre forward as he doe not make the runs to get into a normal c/f position but likes to create as much as score. I for 1 am thnakful he is our player and know if he was at another club in our league would be baying ofr us to get him. We are lucky to have players like him JF and KD , as they are stand out players much like AL
  24. its not a case of being right or wrong ,the adults should have known that wearing a Pompey shirt in the city of their biggest rivals was foolish. We all would like it that both sets of fans could live together but it is not going to happen, so dont do things that put a youngster in danger. I must say I was surprised reading it as I would have put money on the incident being the other way round and it was a saints fan attacked. Of course we dont know if the lad made a gesture or kissed his shirt at the lads who then got riled. Dont tell me that might not have happened as we all know how kids do behave . I recall the occasion when a father took his kid wearing a Pompey shirt to the Tranmere game and stood near the saints fans and taunted us.
  25. I can't get your train of thought on this occasion. Do we care how well a forward does if he contributes what RL did at B'mouth? LB is far by the most overrated of our forwards IMO, he will not be a CCC standard forward
