  1. Are you trolling? I like many thousands of others have paid full price. That is my choice, i also want the club to thrive and so am more than happy to see the club taking initiatives to get more into the ground. To be honest, to sit in the Chapel with thousands of kids is worth a massive discount IMO anyway. Every hloiday i go on or flight without question there will be people paying less than me for the same.Should I stay at home in protest? The more people in the stadium the better the feeling, the more that NC will be able to spend to improve our enjoyment in the future, give the club a chance it is recovering from major heart surgery and needs all the care it can get.
  2. Again the PL will bend the rules to0 help them. It is amazing how corrupt the whole system is.
  3. Most of us would not be sensitive to that. lol
  4. to win the election is a poisoned chalice. I would be happy for Brown to stay and reap what he has sewn. The tories will come into power on the back of the worst finaces ever (unlike what brown inherited) and we will have misery and hardship. You only have to look at the Eurostar nonsense to see that the people have no stomach for anything not pleasant and will soon turn on the new faces.Brown will then of course be there telling them that 'he told them they were better off under him.' Cameron lose the electrion and let the looney left get what they fully deserve for their total ruin of our economy. 175billion ffs, how are we going to pay that back, let alone all the hidden borrowings.
  5. There always has been a booking fee on credit card transactions.
  6. I expect the club were not surprised that some would use it to save money, but it is a blunderbuss aproach spray enough shot and you'll hit something. The fans who have used it just to go by themselves may well want some more and go next time at ful price, a lot will give the kid tickets to friends and so the potential of new fans. Friuends of ours took their kids last leauge game and we got a call at 6 oclock saying they were still trying to prize their kid out of the club shop.He was a man u fan up to then. Now he is fully kitted up as a saints fan. Yes there are some who will use this to knock the club but for me, if it encourages another 100 people to become saints fans then it is all worhtwhile. Happy christmas
  7. Im sure the |Leicester fans are really pleased that MM is showing long term intent ll, although as im very cynical he probably wants to keep in with that lot in Pompey as to keep the skeletons quiet
  8. I was upbaeat about the team until I have read the last page of this thread, and as for our resident moaning Arsenal fan on here!!!

    Kelvin fit!

I have stood up for KD in the past, but i believew he has to wait for his chance again
  10. Mourinho is the man for tha job. He gets under fergies skin and knows how to build a PL winning team.
  11. I think that is true, to me anyway. It may be as im getting older the thrill is going but silly things have been lost . Something as stupid as the draw for the fa cup.You never knew any teams number and waited holding your breath in anticipation who we were playing or was it us who had been chosen. No, the numbers are all there to see and so that silly little extra is gone. Im sure as we go up in the world again my passion to be back in the Pl may return, but by then i hope a little more sanity will be instilled as the wages and star status may have been smoothered a little. To my miond the PL is now froth and hype, how many times can they think up 'clash of the Titans' or Super weekend to try and make Bolton v Pompey seem exciting. The empty seats are becoming more evident as time moves on, sooner or later the clubs will have to address the stupid excesses they are paying footballers.
  12. when did that happen? I thought the newspapers had mentioned that you owed watford still.
  13. All valid points
  14. You knocked the nail in there. I forgot on saturday morning I was talking to a Chelsea fan who was going with a load of mates from salisburyto SMS. He mentioned how he hated how Chelsea dont kick off their games at the traditional time of 3 oclock on a saturday but more often than not on a sunday afternoon. For a fan like myself who has been going for decades, I want to have all games kick off at 3, to listen out fro the half time scores when there was real anticipation of what was happening elsewhere. The PL has lost its soul to tv, but I expect I'll love it if we get there again
  15. of course it was never the lightbulb that was faulty , it was the fan that was responsible
  16. If we can compete and win more than we lose then fine. Under this new regime perhaps the better players will be held onto and we can atually achieve again. I hope so
  17. why dont you do the same as we were in the CCC and now then DD. Is it the vanity of being in the PL that rocks your boat?
  18. The winning feeling is a good one. Yes we can build from that and move up, but I dont want to be in the PL if it is a case of paying stupid money and secondly if we are not equipped to do well. Perhaps it is the novelty of us winning a few games that has given me rose tinted glasses, but i have gone past the 'Saints are the greatest' and sneering at Wycombe and the likes because we are a big club. Football to me now is a pastime, a place to be entertained, the type of football I am watching is fine and more pleasurable than I recall many of the games we had in the PL due to fear of losing.Ie when the likes of Bolton Boro Blackburn etc came along determined to get a draw or nick a win, and at no time trying to entertain. I resent putting hard earned money into over paid top rung footballers pockets, and so I am content in seeing us do well and pushing up the leagues but alos knowing that i will find it difficult to bring myself to pay in excess of £50 to watch us.
  19. Now that the 'shame' of relegation is gone and all the politics has died, Im quite enjoying the old feeling of being quietly confident before most games. Yes it is the third tier and we are a 'big club' but the football is real old style stuff. End to end, lots of tackling, goals and not bad entertainment with a team who seem to want to win. Yes there are lots of misplaced passes and some players are not 'world beaters' but it is fun. I was talking to a regular Arsenal fan and he is now getting tired of the PL. His seat costs him £100 a game, he likes the clinical precision of the passing and foreign stars but now feels it is wearing thin. All those 100k a week footballers bleeding the fans dry, i question whether I will pay double to watch us in the top division.
  20. Leeds is a test of the 'new southampton' If we can go to a strong team in cold and wintery conditions with a baying crowd on their backs and get a positive result, then I will believe it. Sadly I expect a 2-0 defeat
  21. I sold a house in the last couple of months and got 1% through a local agent. Property is in short supply and so the agents are gagging to get them on the books. I suggest the independants are more likely to deal. I beleive you are right to sell , but dont think prices will be going up but down in the next few months.
  22. I tell you if Pompey had Fred West laying their patios and Shipman as their doctor the PL and FA would still do nothing. They are fearful of opening the can of worms.Just look at how the bung enquiry was brushed aside
  23. I agree but it is amusing some of the posts. I had seen some of Alps stuff and so I knew he was around.i went missing for a week or so nobody cared then |Lol
  24. my older brother went to Tauntons I must tell him there is a reunion..... is there a special table for those who spent their time playing cards/darts and basically doing sfa?
  25. Lol
