  1. Im sure he put peoples backs up, ex players not getting complimentary tickets, etc etc but Marcus trusted hm and that is good enough for me
  2. Correct, but we as fans want to see football played to win, the board seem to have this plan of buy young who then go on to be sold at a big profit. It is unsustainable, but our club has the reputation of selling. The players we want, established and experienced do not fit in with SR dreams as those players are at their peak price wise and so they cat see a profit. Im all for buying young players who other clubs dont know of and may do well, but patently we need a tough spine. Fabianski was out there free, a tremendous keeper, who we have been on the back of wonderful performances (even last season) and other players with expereience and toughness for this league. Add to that get athletic, strong, runners who will outrun and outfight the players we are up against, instead of the constant lightweight fancy dans we seem to keep buying
  3. And they way LM started you would have called him a thick Geordie and marching up and down as a guardsman. Social media was unheard of then, the clubs board were strong and resisted untold pressure and kept him, the rest is history
  4. Sunderland did not have their hands tied withthe PSR we have had from the previous seasons spending. They have basically bought a whole new team of strong athletic, mobile and determined players. Their profile of player is nothing like the ones we chase, they are not looking to spin for a profit on player sales like the focus is on us with buying
  5. Frankly do you really wnat to go up with this squad? to me they wouldnt get 5 points next season.
  6. Probably the same bloke who put in the Echo that the Skates were staying in hotels in Southampton and were going to cause mayhem in the pubs during the game lol

do we ever learn, ever since Puel was deemed not to be good enough we have had more managers that I care to recall. I will remind you that Puel had us in a cup final and 7th or 8th. We would still be an established PL sidehad we not got rid at that time
  8. Im sure the Northam couldnt hear the Pompey fans either especially when they are singing. A hundred or so fans sitting next to the away fans isnt going to drown them out either. We all know that the ground can really rock but it does need the team to give the fans something to shout/cheer about. I suggst the players are kicking themselves about how poor they were and if the game was replayed their performance would be so different
  9. I saw that Murphy said it was like a home game lol. Are their players trained to come up with that guff, they werent even the loudest away fans this season. Stoke who only hlf filled the section were louder. Pre match the crowd was awesome as per the commentators, but they with the help of our sub par team manged to deflate the atmosphere. I suggest the same wont happen at FP as they will be beter preparedas they have already sampled the feel of the game. It came just a fewweeks too soon for us
  10. Moshino did the right thing, he was clever in neutering our fans by time wasting from the off. Also noticable was that when we played WBA in the play offs from the off the fans booed constantly for th first 20 minsutes when he opposition had the ball, we did it for the first few minutes and stopped as we all got nervous as the team were not at it.
  11. What nonsense, I dont give a toss what away fans think, they are not going to say complimentary things unless they win. There is a reason why SMS was voted the favourite ground for away fans, it wasnt because a load of knuckles were shouting abuse all game, but they went away with 3 points and created a lot of noise suppressing the home fans.

WS intimated something similar in his interview after the game, where he said something on the lines of getting the old ways out of the players system.
  13. well if you stood opposite the Northam when the end was split you could hear the away fans more than the home fans, especially if you were on that side of the ground.
  14. They wanted to frustrate and slow the game down. They hoped tonick a win on the back of it. No I doubt I woud have had the same opinion, Id have been shouting at our keeper being so stupid in the first place.
  15. Spend the whole game looking at the away fans and flicking V's by all means , thats your choice but we seem to hae the only fan base in the world who want our singing end split in half to give the away fans a great day out, and an end where their team can kick to and roar them on. Ask the fans of any club in the country and say the club were to split their end eg The Kop, Stretford, Pompeys home end, theyd laugh you out of the room. It is ridiculous, all so you @can have banter' , most of the time the away fans banter is better than ours and so gians SFA. As you can tell Im fully behind having a home end and once we happen to get a run of games where we are doing well, then the wallwill show it is was the correct decision. Sunday the players gave us nothing to feed off.
  16. It wasnt in our interests to slow the play down, and so no it wasnt
  17. the sooner he gets banned the better IMO. I know some like him but he is out for publicity. I like him less than Westwood FFS
  18. They know the art of falling over and screaming, the one where Flynn was booked . jumpped in the air and screamed. Time and again they under the slightest of touches went down, and the ref fell for it. All part of the plan to disrupt any flow of the game and of course their 2nd keeper went down and got the trainer on after wehad a bit of momentum
  19. He left the player who was laid out, on the pitch until half time then said he had badly damaged neck. It is a badly worded interview and can only ramp things up next time, perhaps thats what he wants. Not blaming for his keeper going totally AWOL who would have smashed the defender anyway.
  20. I wonder if the meaning of the game was overstated to the players as they were so nervous. Pompey timewasted from the first minute. Their manager did a masterclass in suppressing our home advantage. I am fully behind Still but dont understand why a team made up to put crosses in the box has only a small man up front. Flynn is totally dereft of confidence. Why we did nt take a few pot shots was weird although we just couldnt get the ball up the pitch to get the chance to. Overall at least we didnt lose and the game came too soon, a couple of weeks time and I feel we would be better placed toplay this one. I hope we can suppress the atmosphere at FP as they did.
  21. Do they let Millwall v WHU mix, or Celtic Rangers, Brum V Newcastle
  22. there was a Police escort to the ground with the fans completely segregated. Ohh the Brittania road one was nothing much was it? All those who went inside for a stretch may have a different opinion. I was at Fratton Park in 84 and there was little police presence when we were waiting for our coach near the station, fans were mixed and there was lots of scraps. Im sure if you want to test how peaceful it would be, why not hang around near the Pompey coaches on Sunday, no doubt they give you flowers
