Will Saints be reducing store prices with the VAT cut as of Monday?
OldNick replied to Big_Bald_Si's topic in The Saints
I think it is conveinient as the club like all other retailers are hurting.they would have had to cut prices anyway and so this may take up some of that cut. -
I will refrain from sniping back on your first childish response. I do not support everything Rl does and says. I just look at it how I feel. I have been going since 1968 in that long period i had my hopes raised on many occasions about getting a stadium. Under, some what seem great chairman, they never came up with the goods in fact they held us back when LM was doing wonderful things and we could well have won the league had they stumped up for Trevor Francis in the season we finished 2nd. RL was our chairman when by hook or by crook (I dont care who) he got it done. It matters not 1 iota to me who put what where, but he at least signed it off with whoever. Yes Stoneham may have been good but if the running track was inside the stadium, which for cost it probably would be, that would have made a difference to my pastime as the pitch would be father away and the atmosphere lessened. I dont go ten pin bowling and don't see why other sports should be levered into a bigger sports facilities. The shopping aspect I would have stomached as i would see that as being something that the profits/rents would have made the club healthier. As for stomping away, well perhaps they did i suspect dealing with a load of Liberals who didnt know international cricket was going to be played at the Rose bowl that they didnt object to. They couldnt see that it would have made a big difference to Eastleigh in regeneration and have shopping centres that people might actually want to visit. Tell me how much better Eastleigh is now compared to then and I will say it has gone backwards as a centre and the residents have lost out, mainly due to a few who scared them by telling thewm that football thugs would be running through their streets. I put on here as i see it and would listen if the opposing people understood that just because people understand some of what RL does that it doesnt mean we love him.

He's done well to have 22 orders to be cancelled. If the deals are definately still going to be signed next week surely the bank could support him, or they are worried about the health of his business. -

I noted when I went and watched a basketball game in the states that with the ticket you got a pizza and a coke. How about the club giving vouchers for kids to have a yorkie and coke etc in the family section. That may bring a few parents out with their kids but also help them with the cost of taking a kid to a game.(I would point out this is not of self interest)

no he didnt, but it was answering to a poster saying you were unlucky not to win, when in fact you were lucky not to lose. The referee gave the free kick and so you should stop whining about that if it is a case of actual happenings.
-
Good that you are back.

Alittle unlucky!!!! Inzaghi should have scored 2 in the first half

was the call from the Fratton End and yes i was and had a good laugh in injury time.

its a nonsense anyway, stores including the club shop will drop prices due to neccessity more than 2.5% and still will have trouble selling. -
Well if it meant us to have a running track around the stadium Im glad we didnt get it.Would the club have owned those facilities or was EBC going to have those costs. Wes I respect that you know far more than I do on this subject and I dont know who we should tham for the stadium, but I do know that since the 60's I had seen the promoise of a stadium time and again come to nothing.Under RL the stadium was delivered and so he must have some credit as SCC does as well. I do not see a problem though him trying to be shrewd and get the best deal.

BTF I agree and I was not aiming it at yourself or any other poster but Hacienda has lowered his comments to me on this thread and so I thought he needed a bit back. i try and be restrained but I will not sit and take abuse and then not answer back.

well you are wrong. Months ago myself and a few others warned that the economy was going to fail big time. I also suggested that anybody who had credit card debt on here should forego anything including a holiday to bring their borrowing down so they would be better placed to cope with these times. I also for the last 3 years have foreseen the state of the economy and the housing market.I downsized my house and moved into a smaller one 3 years ago and put a large amount on treasury. I would suggest that it may show Iam not such a numpty and might just read the markets better than yourself.

no because we have a personality, drive and ambition. Not a wish to sit on our a###s waiting for the next opportunity for a sickie.

inclusive of vat is different to a cost plus vat. Unless the price ticket says something like £10 plus vat I would suggest there is no law breaking. -
Was House the bloke on TV who LM showed up when he didnt realise International cricket would be played at the Rose Bowl and the size of the crowds expected. As for Stoneham, dont most new stadia try and have supermarkets and hotels on the site to help pay towards the stadium.Come on I know RL has made some mistakes (haven't we all ) but to knock for trying to get another revenue stream to help pay for the stadium is wrong. Perhaps had we had those things at SMS we may not be so up s### creek.

that post is for people who dont understanding basic budgeting.

She should dowhat a lot do, leave and join an agency and then get more an hour from the NHS and the agency gets a fee as well.
-
No but the waste we leave is no doubt 3 times more, or there is 3 times chance we need the emergency services or call the council (if anyone is there of course) It is a fairer way of charging people and like VAT everyone pays in.
-
Was it ever implimented? I thought it never got through and so they put up the vat 2.5% instead. It was still a fair tax, or as it may cost you more you dont want it.
-
Who audits the costs charged by the auditors? Im sorry BTF im very cynical about all companies that sub contract or any payments the councils make.
-
That is the fairest tax of all. (we have 3 people in our house). Therefore we undoubtedly use 3 times the facilities , refuse collecting etc etc than someone who lives in a house alone. Every citizen would pay and perhaps there could be a levy to the main householder if they live in a higher price bracketed home.Id accept that, as long as ALL paid in.
-
I agree CB should pay up and you should also Ewell. We dont always see eye to eye but you also give good posts.

perhaps its because you are working for a company that is dealing with the council that are so lax in getting value for money, your company can afford you to take it easy and not work so hard. Please do not tell me that council workers do more hours than the private sector. Phone for an officer at the town hall before 10 or after 3 on a friday afternoon. I suspect you will get the 'Im sorry he's not at his desk at present' or 'he is at an outside meeting and will phone next week' or 'hes off sick at present' ps I meant to put up a smiley winky thing
