  2. Chris Perry. His efforts have been exceptional imo. How about SWF making a presentation of some sort to show our appreciation?
  3. These are the players who I believe we should show appreciation to for their past contributions: Lloyd James, Simon Gillett (both at different times gave their best shot when times were pretty desperate for the club) Chris Perry (exceptional efforts, time has caught up, sadly) White (promising skills, and but for injuries he might have established himself earlier) Wayne Thonas (who can forget his wonder goal? At his best, great, but injuries have been a liability) Jon Otsemobor (surprised at his going, but a better player has clearly been lined up) Kayne McLaggon (but for injuries he might have featured more. A bright future imo) Antonio and Papa (watch this space imho - tough negotiations going on) Special thanks guys, and good luck for the future!
  4. Ugly. Those look like they are in mourning. Too complicated and depressing. Fitting perhaps for our relegation season, but certainly not now. The new 125 badge is a million times better; it's positive, forward looking and hits the right note. Very appropriate for our promotion season ahead!.
  5. The red 125 ball looks great
  6. I want Huddersfield to go up because I can easily get to all the other grounds.
  7. But why did he send his look-alike to the game, sitting by Nicola?
  8. Knowing their jammy luck, he will gloat one last time as they scrape a win at Wembley (grrr!) before being finally wound up. Or will they?

I saw Nicola, by Marcus, at the end watching the players lap of honour. Perhaps they both sent their doubles to the match.
  10. The Solent is wrong because he was sitting in his usual seat and I could see him clearly beamlng when the players did their lap of honour. Of course he could have a double. Perhaps you guys should know by now not to be falling for mischief-making by that skate TV company. Surprised at you, DD.
  11. Marcus was sitting in his usual place near Cortese - or his double was. And he looked real chuffed when the players were going round the pitch after the match.
  12. You talk true, and for me it's kneck and kneck between Schneiderlin, Lallana and Harding, but I plumped for Lallana because of his workrate, tenacity, skill and inventiveness, plus he is easily our second best goalscorer.
  13. Because Celtic are way above League 1 quality an approach by them for any of our best players would have to be taken seriously by the player concerned. But I hope it would come to nothing.
  14. Celtic easily beat us pre-season two years ago. In fact they walked it.
  15. Niemi, Bridgey, Dodd, Richards, Svensson, Pahars, Marsden, Oakley, Walcott, Beattie Crouch. Reserves Bale, Kelvin Davies (sorry, can't leave him out as there isn't an alternative), Claus, overweight leTiss, Phillips And I reckon by the end of next season Lallana will get into this team in place of the aging LeTiss. (Time Travel, how I love it.)
  16. Are you Barry The Briefcase Badger?
  17. Before swallowing your beer say 'Why were we where we were?' three times. Anyone know any others?
  18. If AP goes , some of his best signings might be lured to another club. There is always a turnover of players when new managers arrive, and this has been our downfall in the past. No this is not the time. The job has only just begun. And wasn't it Cortese who denied AP the signing of the likes of Danns (and was Elliot another rumoured signing?) Cortese backed AP up with Lambert and other additions, but should not have stopped short of improving the midfield position. That probably cost us a play-off position. We must strengthen the squad as it is, not waste money changing managers and having to start rebuilding all over again. So lets hear a denial statement now, Nicola. In AP we trust.
  19. Blimey, you're fast on the button tonight.
  20. For some reason Saints have always been ignored by the national press (unless we are doing badly). But eyebrows will be raised next season when we are the only club not to need a sponsors name on our home team shirts. Guaranteed. Probably the only professional club not to be advertising its sponsor in all Europe and the Americas. (Not sure about China and the East.)
  21. I think also that because some of the January acquisitions were cup-tied for FA and Paintpot it may have taken longer for a settled side to emerge than might otherwise have been the case. Our best team was not defined until quite late into the season. Perhaps seven points or so were lost then. We did 'dip' in mid winter.
  22. True. I admit to posting an uninformed opinion. Just that we need to be signing players with CCC potential, and I would like to be reassured in that respect re Poke.
  23. I expect Bart will want to pursue his career somewhere where he is likely to be a first team keeper. He has been unlucky to be second choice to the experienced Kelvin after starting so well here before his dramatic injury at Newcastle (that seems a very long time ago). He needs games for his own sake, which would be bad for us since neither Poke, Forecast nor Pernecky are promotion quality back-up keepers. I hope we keep the promising McClaggon and the brilliant Connolly, and not dispose of Wayne Thomas or Perry unless we have strong youthful replacements. hope we sign both Papa and Antonio who have both made important match-winning contributions. None of the others are promotion quality.
  24. How about starting the promotion team rebuild here:- PFA League One Team of the Year 2009/10: Kelvin Davis (Saints), Frazer Richardson (Charlton), Patrick Kisnorbo (Leeds), Gary Doherty (Norwich), Ian Harte (Carlisle), Wes Hoolahan (Norwich), Jason Puncheon (Saints), Robert Snodgrass (Leeds), Nicky Bailey (Charlton), Rickie Lambert (Saints), Grant Holt (Norwich).
