  1. Well, we'll know if they are to suffer a deforestation if Forest fans start queuing for the suicide clinic in Interlaken.
  2. Not to worry Steve. If you squint your eyes you might just be able to make them out here http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=Interlaken%20Switzerland&countryCode=#map=46.68548,7.85591|14|32&bd=useful_information&loc=CH:46.68548:7.85589:14|Interlaken|Interlaken,%203800
  3. IF he is very fast he would be an excellent signing, cos we are looking a bit pedestrian following the departures of Papa and Antonio. I hope it happens. Can he play on the wings?
  4. Well, that's it then. Spain v Netherlands should be the best match ever. But thank goodness there is only one last match to have to listen to Lawrenson's inane comments. ITV have supplied by far the best and most intelligent coverage, and their signature tune 'Africa' sung by Vusi Mahlasela is just ace!

    Concerned

We are going to miss these two. Papa's pace and Antonio's bustling power. They so often came on as sub and changed the game. We would not have got to the Paintpot final without their contributions for starters. I hope there is possibilty of at least one of them returning.
  6. We fail to sign a creative midfield general to replace Wotton and lose more games we should win
  7. Well said. We've much to be positive about. I can't wait for the season to start. This site seems to attract more doom-mongers these days, and they make very boring posters, which is why I seldom read here during the summer break.
  8. What were our results against Brentford? Two 1-1 draws says Dickson is no better than Harding. Brentford 52 goals conceded. Saints 47 goals conceded. Yes our defence was/is weak and needs strengthening, but who is the better footballer at LB and the more appropriate choice for our attacking style of play? For me the jury is out. I'd be interested to to know more about the strengths and weaknesses of both players' games. Can anyone oblige?
  9. It'll be interesting to see if less ST's are sold this year in our intended promotion campaign compared to last year in our survival season (which was where we were at this time last year).
  10. That's almost like saying I will be able to pay for my Saturday seat by not driving down from London to SMS for the midweek evening matches when I have to work. I feel better now.
  11. So it's a £3 charge for an ST then?
  12. Except he/the club cashed on for around 6 million in the end due to our financial difficulties, but true, Leo could have gone for almost nowt, except he and his dad wanted Saints to benefit and saw that we did.

    ugly X1

Coach would have to be Redcrapp
  14. Yep. And continue the policy of signing the best players from all the other clubs too.
  15. mark fry? sauce?
  16. I sort of agree. Tactically we should continue to sign players from clubs who are likely to be the tougher opposition next season - to weaken them (like Puncho from the Dons, which was a brilliant signing) .
  17. Actually I don't think season tickets which are too cheap are a good idea. Because they will be snapped up by a fair few people who won't be attending every game - which means that seats in the best positions will be denied others. The stadium would not be as full as attendance figure claim, and could suffer a lower key atmosphere.
  18. It would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall listening to conversations between Adam Lallana and Drew during this last year. In my opinion Adam has progressed most as a footballer from actually playing, albeit two divisions lower, whilst Surman most likely earned much more. I wonder what they are recommending to each other now?
  19. By then H&W will be the skates home ground.

    Dickson bid

Eleven and a half years each!
  21. Either Millwall or Swindon, whichever club doesn't go up, will be tough teams to visit. Charlton possibly too. I'm looking forward to some entertaining matches.
  22. True. The rest above were pretty good on their day, but too often they were off the boil, and even Kelvin was fallible that year.
  23. Drew and Morgan seem similar players to me -both creative, tactical midfielders who are a bit shy of tackling, even tough Surman played at the back for us. On the plus side, Andrew scores goals which Schneiderlin does not. We really need a hard tackling replacement for Wotton and I'm not sure that Drew can do this job well enough. I don't think Surman would want to be second fiddle to Morgan. But he is versatile, and Drew would undoubtedly strengthen the squad. So yes, bring him back!
  24. I would like ST's to be sold as a promise to provide admission to 23 home matches as advertised. SO, when matches have to be re-arranged (it happened a lot this last season) if we can't make the re-arranged date due to a a prior commitment, we are offered free attendance in an unreserved seat at another match in any competition. OR a deduction off the cost of the following season's ST. (This is normal practice for other entertainments ie theatre tickets)
