  1. Yes, but we have a very different squad to early season. Then, rock bottom morale and players' performances in early matches were worse than abysmal, and not even of League 2 standard. The whole table reflects wasted matches in the early weeks, playing as we had to do with Lowe's failed legacy of whom only Lallana, Davies and Spiderman are regular starters now (have you forgotten?) So the start point is pertinent, and AP's detractors should reflect more on the general progress. I am more interested in the period between the Rovers match and the end of the season as long term pointers. I'm as impatient as anyone, but I'm enjoying the ride, meanwhile, bumps and all. That is not to say that March, April and May are not key months, and we expect!
  2. Another OTT. AP has been dealing with different weaknesses as the season has developed. We are still reaping the disadvantage of an almost total team rebuild. Yes we are not yet resolving how to cope with stubborn teams on plough fields, and perhaps we should be studying and learning how the likes of Leeds and Naarwich deal with them. People forget how tiring it is playing on a bog. You try running on a soggy ploughed field for ninety minutes. It is easy to say that they are pros and that is their job, but undoubtedly the match at City on Saturday three days earlier affected stamina. Before demanding the 18 months chop see how AP's team learns to address similar challenges. He has others. Ever since Ashkam disposed of Allen Ball fifteen years ago we have gone downhill because of a never ending succession of managers, and squad changes. Haven't you learned anything?
  3. This assuming HMRC are as manipulative as the Premier league, which I doubt. Pimply cannot balance the books day in, day out. They are effectively insolvent, and even if they were allowed to increase their astronomical debts even further the borrowing does them no good except buy more time on the merry-go-round. 'Robbing Peter to pay Paul' doesn't alter that fact.

    Stoke City?

Andrew Davies excepted, they were all rubbished on Saints forums as not good enough for us (like quite a few ex Saints now playing in higher leagues).
  5. QUICK FISH SOUP 12 skate fillets (blue gills, crappies, etc.) 3 med. potatoes, cubed 1 med. onion, chopped 1 can cream of celery soup 1 tbsp. butter
  6. Yep. I would say to our players, do not be disheartened - you guys did well on Saturday, so get your revenge by winning every match till the end of the season and we will trounce them in the CCC!!! It is doable. Play like you did on Saturday and we WILL do it!
  7. It would be fanciful but nice if this were to apply to FA Cup matches too, Then we would be home to Birmingham in the sixth round! Bring it on!

    Lallana

You should have gone to SpecSavers.
  9. From Cyprus, 4,150 miles round trip. Not me, a very special Saints mad relation.
  10. If the club move away fans to the Kingsland/Chapel corner they will probably have to have these erected along the Kingsland stand up to the bridge.
  11. I liked this bit: "Chainrai, chief executive Peter Storrie, director Mark Jacob, controversial advisor Daniel Azougy and any other remnants of previous regimes have almost two weeks to close a deal with one of the two potential buyers they claim are waiting in the wings. Which wings, I know not. The ones pigs use, perhaps?"
  12. An interesting comment from Dindane - that their Premiership position is priority. It could just be that HMRC have done us a favour by giving them a weeks grace. If their players believe the fairy tale that there are a couple of buyers on the horizon and they still have a chance of avoiding relegation their resolve could just possibly be weakened. So long as we give them our all.
  13. 'We won't be playing you anymore" chant is a cert.
  14. Midnight on BBC website. Just flashing to say that talks between Poorpey and HMRC have broken down, but no details yet.
  15. There are a lot of genuine supporters who for one reason or another have not been able to buy linked tickets, ie can't afford till pay day, can't afford two games at this time or have work commitments at the linked games, etc, so expect a rush on the 10th.

    SICK

We could have them as our away kit.

    SICK

I will feel very proud and special wearing the original kit (and without a sponsor too) and although I respect some people being upset that we abandon the stripes next year I think their reaction is OTT. Our grandparents and great grandparents (including mine) would be familiar with that kit. It is our history. In any case most years we vary the design of the stripes, and as someone has already pointed out on another thread, in our most successful years we didn't have stripes at all. But why not have our away kit as stripes - in say yellow and white or yellow and black. It would look great. This is a new era. Time to be innovative.
  18. First we beat MK Dons. Then we beat Pompey. Then we aim for a top ten spot in the League. Then we beat Leeds in the JPT final. Success breeds success, the new players gell and we go from strength to strength. But sorry, I did the Predictor a month ago and even with a sequence of mostly wins and one defeat only (v Leeds in the League) we can't make the play-offs because other clubs above us don't slip up. The best we can make is 9th. Too far too late. So lets make the most of each game as it comes. .
  19. Ironic isn't it! Wasn't it only for about £160,000 that Barclays bounced the cheque that cause RL to put us into admin? Now it's small change, lol!
  20. Hong Kong is most likely
  21. The touch paper won't light. It's too soggy.
  22. Somethings wrong with my prediction page. I'm only being offered one box for scores. Anyone else having the same problem? Help, before I am demoted to page 4!
