That may be because ST holders can buy as many tickets as they wish, if that is what this means (a bit vaguely written): 'The initial sales window will be just for season ticket holders, and there will be no limit on the number of seats available.' So this would upset current ST seating arrangements.

And what is Marcus's surname?
-
I did! But oh dear, Adam's hair's beginning to fall out already. Perhaps he will be another Alan Shearer.
-
From the desperate title of this thread (and on OS) I was expecting to be reading that our massive cuptie was clashing with the likes of an (unimportant) Champions league match. Whatever next? lol

My father taught Martin Chivers at Foundry Lane School, and they were always chatting about Saints when they bumped into each other in later years. I can understand that Martin would want to be associated with Spurs, since his career blossomed there, but it would is no surprise to understand why he follows Saints results, his time at Southampton being his very successful formative years. It is high time to re-appraise his career at Saints for the colossus he was imho. If we ever get our museum, his qualities and his contribution to the club should feature very highly. We rightly hear a lot about Terry Paine, John Sydenham and others, but the feats of Chivers, Day, Reeves, Roper etc are enshrined in past pages of The Echo. I would love to be able to re-read facsimiles one day. Perhaps now is the time for representatives of the club to liase with the owners of the paper to ensure preservation of their archives. I am sure Marcus would be interested.

There's a stuffed Dodo in The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. I hope someone preserves old copies of The Echo for The Saints Museum - which surely must happen one day. Duncan, don't burn all yours in a fit of frustration. We are coming out of the woods. In a few years when we are back in The Premiership our current years will be valuable history Even the last years of The Echo and Pink will read like gems (I am confident). It's still worth collecting and preserving them.

To the Harry Belafonte tune WAYYYYGO! WAAYYAYYEEEGO!! Papa come an' 'e gonna kill'em dead! WAYYYYGO! WAAYYAYYEEEGO!! Papa come an' 'e gonna kill'em dead! (and after he scores) WAYYYYGO! WAAYYAYYEEEGO!! Papa done an' we're puttin' 'em to bed!!! (copyright to getmycoat.com)

Good point. Our fate was sealed against BR when Lallana was replaced by rubbish and they brought on Wiliams, who scored. Time we had strength in depth.

What is a Bank Manger?

Reports on Antonio seem to be mixed, and somewhat remind me of descriptions of early appearances by Kenwyne Jones, then a fast promising athlete but inexperienced on the pitch. Anyone agree? (I couldn't attend the game and see him play so excuse if this is an absurd question)

Update from OS: Saints (from): Davis, Bialkowski, James, Thomas, Mills, Trotman, Wotton, Perry, Harding, Lancashire, Gillett, Antonio, Holmes, Hammond, Preen, Paterson, N'Diaye, Saganowski, Lambert. So my revised team: Lancashire----Thomas-------Trottman----Harding -------James---Wotton--Hammond------- Papa-------------------------------Holmes ----------------Lambert---------- Reserves: Antonio, Gillett, Bart, Mills, Saga Thomas instead of Jaidi who's rested. A pity we are only allowed five subs, so I don't think Preen and Paterson will be seen. I personally would not have risked Antonio either as a first showing in any cup match, but it seems this has been agreed as a condition of his loan.
-
Davis------------------- Lancashire----Jaidi-------Trottman----Harding -------James---Wotton--Hammond------- Papa-------------------------------Holmes ----------------Lambert----------- Reserves: Thomas, Antonio, Gillett, Forecast or Bart, Fish, Saga (Because he needs to 'showcase' Lancashire and Gillett he he wants someone to take them off his hands.)

Currently section 6 is pretty moribund. As quiet as the Chapel. So populating the more vocal supporters into this area can only be good for atmosphere.
-
As for the Directors Boxes, why not move them down a section towards Itchen South. Not every club has them smack middle in the stadium.
-
No reason why, beginning next season, section 4 can't be accessed for away supporters by knocking down a wall or two and shortening Itchen North. Much as I like the stand I would be prepared to forsake some of it if it means squeezing the away fans into the corner of the stadium. So what if we have to get early bird seasons to secure our Itchen seats? It amazes me that fans think where their ass is plonked is more important than what is best for results - and for the club. Make no mistake, away fans have had too big an influence on results, and this could have made a significant difference to our current position. Sideline 'em.
-
Surely it has been very clear for a very long time (since August) that with the exception of Davis, Lallana, and possibly James and the ever-injured Holmes, we have not had the player-resources to cope with even League 2's standards. Such has been AP's inherited problem. Better to build up the team in stages than to go all out for a dream team, which as you say has not been available to buy.

The best thing that Pompey can do now is apply for administration and take the points deduction, not next season in the CCC. What are the Premiership's rules for when a club goes into administration, by the way? Have they thought that far ahead?

It could be called 'Save sinking old Soles' Other suggestions?
-
Pricelss. Yes, let's. That would be the ultimate humiliation for the Skates - to have Saints fans collecting for them. lol
-
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/table/default.stm ...and third placed Rovers have only scored four goals away, so form points to a 0-0 draw or a 1-0 win. If we win we can be sure that we really are improving! COYR!!!
-
I've been away, but heard he was injured at a Reserves match. Is this true?
-
I couldn't agree more. How the present lack of a system is condoned is quite astounding. One competitive reserves game a week would be a start.
-
I think you are probably correct that he wrote it himself. It is incoherent, muddled and many journals these days just reprint or rehash press releases, as we know. It is even more clumsy than rupes's efforts who did at least employ professional PR companies (at SFC expense) to try to spread His Word. The ex doctor should try The Daily Mail, lol.

I don't think the top four are sellable. May get a few peanuts for Poke from Torquay. Agree with the loans. But save us from more untried kids, please.
