  1. Solid win - just what's reqd to maintain momentum. Well done boys.
  2. Someone said we always struggle against well organised sides. Wouldnt it be great if for once, just for once,Saints were well organised.
  3. No, you are right - stay scoring goals for a team in the league above us.
  4. Come back Punch.
  5. Disappointed that we resorted to the long ball during the first half, which was probably due to Oldham's game plan rather than our inability to string more than 2 passes together. They were the better team for the first 45, played neat football and scored a good goal. Credit Adkins for changing things and putting on our 'impact players'. I can see the logic but I'm never happy when a forward is removed for the last 15-20 minutes in favour of a defensive player. It encouraged Oldham to push forward and we end up playing deeper and deeper resulting in a needless backs to the wall finish which almost led to an equalizer. Guly was having his best game too.
  6. I thought he looked good stretching on the touchline in front of me Saturday. Some players dont perform in the stiffs -look at MLT- and need the first team atmosphere to show what they can do. Get him in the team, and pronto.
  7. I genuinely thought Perkins was their mascot when he ran on at the start - he must be the smallest player in all 3 divisions including Dyer. He was surprisingly effective in the annoyance stakes and needed to be stamped on but nobody got near him the entire game.
  8. But dont forget he lives north of Watford. Whereas that Pardew fellow doesnt and he used to say things like 'them players' rather than 'those players'. Oh the shame..
  9. High Noon
  10. Mowbray was my first thought yesterday. Got WBA to the play-off final and then won the Championship the following year, both by playing a passing game. We have the players to compliment his style. Perhaps naive to think he could survive in the Prem without some defensive quality, but he would have learnt from this. Please please not Curbishley.
  11. Excellent news . However, nagging question in my mind...why should someone who looked as though he would be a Serie A regular this season want to exchange that in order to play in League 1 ? Hardly an ambitious move from his point of view in whichcase we must be paying him a fortune ?
  12. My Mother died the same day as Markus. Both will remain in my family's thoughts and, for very different reasons, will never be forgotten. Thank you, Markus.
  13. This is excellent, and should make those of us who are able-bodied think just for a moment how lucky we are. Well done and the best of luck.
  14. What about that Lazy Ba****d who played for us a few years ago ?
  15. Since it was a mutual agreement to cancel his contract, presume Molyneux will sign for Vale where he was on loan at the end of the season ?
  16. Son and me have just renewed ours. Having watched the debacle that was England yesterday we cant wait to see a decent team again.
  17. As already mentioned ,'Constant Paine' is a terrific book totally dedicated to the great man, charting his life from a schoolboy playing in Winchester through to the present - plus some great photos. As a lad I remember being on holiday in the IOW and coming over for an August midweek evening game with my Dad. We stayed at the same hotel as the team and both Terry and Tony Knapp spent a good 45 minutes chatting to us before climbing on board the team coach prior to kick-off. A nice man off the pitch, hard as nails on it.
  18. Compared to you and me perhaps but according to Lpool's stats slower than both Torres and Kuyt for instance.
  19. Puncheon's found his level in Div 1 and good luck to him. He couldnt get into a poor Plymouth Championship team, and unlike Surman, wasnt considered good enough to play for England U21's. And why are you so obsessed with pace ? Look at Englands's supposed top midfield players (as opposed to wingers) Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, Carrick etc - not sure I can spot any pace there.
  20. Damn, was quietly hoping he would rejoin us and add a bit of class to the midfield. Hate to see him in those god awful colours of Norwich.
  21. Get a life mate - the Club quite rightly wanted to make the announcement, not via the local rag.
  22. Excellent message from NC - clear, concise with no grey areas. Over to AP then...
  23. And Surman will probably take as long as Bale to adapt to life in the Premiership. And like Bale, he will adapt. Mick McCarthy is too canny and experienced to splash xs 1 million on a bit part player - why bother ?
  24. Norwich will be relieved.
  25. Yep, wouldnt he have loved the chance to spend millions rather than be told to get on with what we've got and some kids.
