Well if that truly were the case and he’s covering up for Spors or the board then he’s an absolute coward. You can’t be expected to challenge for promotion and not ask for the right tools to complete the job. It’s an utter farce if he looked at our striker options when he came here and thought that’s good enough for me.

If the wing backs are given the freedom to get up top I’m happy with that and glad to see Manning dropped. If however the defence aren’t to pass the halfway line then it’s an utter shambles and Still needs to get tae fuck as the rangers fans would say.

Mental isn’t it, MK Dons, Swansea, Southampton, Rangers. On paper you’d look at that and say he’s obviously done a good job and got himself head hunted to move up a level each time, how deceiving. Someone will come in for him again though I’m sure, perhaps another rebuild project at Championship level where his record is ok. Perhaps someone like Burnley when they come down again next season.

I thought Carrillo or Mara were the worst strikers I’d seen pull on a Saints shirt in recent years, but this lad is another level of shite. Kinda feel bad for him because he probably jumped at the chance to join us, and is clearly not up this level. Yeah very much this, he’s been out of the team and then suddenly played three games in a week including a tough trip to Liverpool, I’m sure the legs are feeling a bit heavy. We’ll have to wait and see what that win does to the side but there’s every chance now that result gives everyone the lift we need, it can’t have been easy being so fucking dreadful last season getting battered week in week out, going to take a while to turn this ship around. We were unlucky not to get the win against Boro tbf. If the likes of THB and Downes can get their heads down and produce their form of a couple of years ago we could make real progress. Hopefully “Welly” isn’t too far off a return to give Manning a break.

We need to hold on to this, for the sake of everyone associated with the squad, the lift this win could give us would be massive. Would put us bang level with where we were in 23/24 after 8 games as well.

I find it astounding that all of us fans could see how desperately we needed to sign a striker, yet the club disagreed other that Downs who looks to be a shite Sekou Mara which is quite the feat. I’m even more astounded that Will Still came out and claimed he didn’t want to sign a striker anyway, which makes you question his credentials if he genuinely believed that.

Would have taken it before the game of course, but genuinely don’t think Boro deserved a draw from what they created. The bulk of this squad need to be first choice now, forget shoehorn and THB, they need to earn their place back in the side.
