That “loyalty” led to some fans considering him a legend when in fairness he was just another Benali. It was crazy how often the ref was getting the yellow card out yesterday, bloke behind me nearly had an embolism when I think Bednerak ran off with the ball after the ref gave Norwich a free kick and got booked. The totting up process means we’re going to be seeing a lot of suspensions due to too many yellows a lot earlier than usual.

It would be good to see the club prioritise home advantage for once and keep block 43 for home fans and reduce the influence of the away support. I see we’re charging QPR fans £30 for adults, hopefully we’ve got an agreement with the teams that visit St Mary’s before we play at their ground that they’ll charge our fans the same as we have theirs.

Far more upbeat yesterday, coupled with the video on the new big screens of our best bits over the years I thought it was decent. Thought the teams were going to come out to Enter Sandman by Metallica as they played that straight after but cut it short after about 10 seconds!

Wasn’t much Baz could do for the goals today but at the very least I want to see a keeper screaming at his defence as he marshals them into position, there’s none of that from him. We need an experienced head and a leader between the sticks like Kelvin was. Considering the number of Premier League appearances to their name JS and JB barely looked Championship standard today. Poor marking and sloppy defending. Manning looks exactly what he is, a bog standard Championship left back. KWP is decent and we know what he’s capable of, he just needs the transfer window to be closed so he can settle his mind.

To be fair Bayern are basically the Celtic of the Bundesliga. I could go there and win a title. Far harder to become the Premier League all time record goalscorer. Its a shame the timings didn’t work out for Kane to move to say United or City, and have the opportunity to break the record and win titles.

I’m hoping before the window ends that we might bring in another sides captain to provide us with some leadership and experience out on the pitch, as we did when we signed then Colchester captain Dean Hammond.

I feel like they missed a massive trick by not doing a run with Draper Tools on the front when they were announced as one of our sponsors, I reckon a lot of fans would have lapped them up for nostalgic value. As an aside following my purchase of a DH gate home knock off I’ve ordered a third shirt from there to see what it’s like. Has anyone bought their white kit? If so how good is it by comparison to the real thing?

Loving the honesty from Russell regarding some of the players tonight, kind of why I’m glad this result happened, so he has seen for himself just how shite some of the squad players are and what we’ve had to endure for the past couple of years. Hopefully it means it’s the last time we see some of the useless cunts.

Not going to panic, in a lot of ways I’m glad Martin has managed to see for himself just how poor some of the squad are, and hopefully we see some transfer activity as a result. Let’s be thankful it happened in a nothing game rather than an important league match.

Hopefully Russell uses this game as a way to see what the non first choice XI can do in a competitive game. It’s a long season and we’re going to need a lot of players, no reason we can’t ring the changes AND respect the competition.

Given how dangerous he was in the championship last season I think the club should just take a hardline stance basically and tell him he’s not going anywhere. His potential value if he can recreate the form he showed last season is way more than a replacement would cost. To be fair if I was Tella I would tell Burnley to get stuffed. He’s without doubt one of the main reasons they so comfortably got promoted last season, but they’re repaying that faith by trying to lowball us and basically say he’s not worth what we value him at. Same goes for JWP really, if West Ham want to make a derisory bid for a player that should bring in at least £30 mill I’d be feeling pretty unvalued.

Massive monkey off our backs and potential banana skin avoided. Che has to start, not a huge improvement up top but an improvement none the less. I’d rather keep him and aid our promotion even if we do lose him for nothing next year. If we can get a bit more end product to go with the tippy tappy passing we’ll have a brilliant season.
