  1. Decent enough performance from Saints first half. But for a bit if better finishing we could have scored a couple, equally Liverpool could have scored a couple more. There for us to get something if we're more clinical second half. COYR.
  2. It may not have been pretty, but at no time have we been close enough to the bottom three to panic. You don't remember Ralph's first (half) season where we needed saving? That was way less comfortable than this. And Hughes keeping us up at Swansea? Painfully uncomfortable.
  3. We've had tiny investment in the squad, fourth lowest net spend in the league (two teams with higher net spend than us are going down this season, Burnley, Leeds and Wolves have all spent a lot more than us for the same or a couple more points) and he's got us comfortably staying up this season. It's been a shit three months but this all needs to be taken in perspective - which is hard to do when we've all been trapped indoors and one of our only normal outlets has been absolutely crushingly frustrating.
  4. Agreed - rather have Taki than Theo. I'd have him if the price was right - seems to have a good attitude and there is a player in there. We're shit so not like we're going to do much better.
  5. You just get dumber every day don't you.
  6. Well done Saints! Well played Ralph! Superb point after being fingered by the referee so early. He went in dry but we brought lube. Better luck next time ref.
  7. Reasonable performance from Saints tonight. But here we are, suckerpunched once again. Deflated, depressing, miserable. Business as usual from Southampton FC.
  8. God forbid we score early and go on to lose - I'll need an ambulance.
  9. Drinking game rules for tonight - shots shots shots! Commentator mentions "9-0" Bednarek making a suicide run out to the wing to intercept a winger and completely missing the ball Someone calling James Ward Prowse a "dead ball specialist" Diallo giving the ball away in midfield when all he had to do was pass it 4 yards Walcott being Walcott and losing the ball to no one Che Adams firing the ball at a billion miles an hour into a defender's shins from 5 yards.
  10. Stunningly shit stats for a team that was amazing away from home in 2020. What the fuck has gone wrong.
  11. I just think that it is hard enough for teams like Saints to meaningfully compete as it is - never mind with the already six richest teams getting a nailed-on additional payment of £350 million quid (or whatever the number is). It can't be allowed to happen, and if it does, these teams shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the existing league structure. If they get their cake and are allowed to eat it (play in ESL & PL) I want absolutely fuck all to do with it. Like I said, it's shit enough for clubs like ours as it is - relatively speaking - I know we could be in League One without a pot to piss in - but that wouldn't bother me as much as this does - I'm not a plastic eating football manager playing glory whore of a fan.
  12. 1.2 billion in debt and on target to finish 7th this season (with a team that features Son, Kane and Bale..). Lord knows they need the Super League hand out if they're not to go bust! Fuck em.
  13. Honest assessment from Gary Neville:
  14. Only fans I've seen that appear to have a small cohort that are for this are Spurs fans. Probably by virtue of the fact that they have been shit for years and this (somehow) ensures them a seat at the top table forever more. Imagine being picked for a permanent seat in a super duper League and the reasoning for that is one Carling Cup THIRTEEN YEARS AGO. Elite my hairy fucking arse.
  15. I am so angry about that performance. That was a fucking semi final Saints, and you've played like you started the game 1 nil up and made no attempt to score a goal. Absolutely useless. Honestly would have rather lost 5-2. Absolute horse shit.
  16. Horrendous attacking performance from Saints. What a wasted opportunity.
  17. I know right? What a sad cunt.
  18. Yea - and isn't that a shame? We should be buzzing for this. The difference this time is that THIS squad of players has performed brilliantly in the not-so-distant past, so we all know they can do it - let's just hope they are up for it on Sunday
  19. Seriously, can you just fuck off and find a new hobby. This clearly isn't for you.
  20. I could see us turning it around and as such put everything I own on a Saints win. I'm a multi millionaire now and it's incredible.
  21. Don't know what the players had for breakfast but it certainly took a while to kick in. Awful start but once Saints started playing Burnley couldn't deal with us. Great game to watch! Nice to see Saints get better as the game went on. Job done.
  22. Why do people keep asking this question? We have lots of football matches. I assume the team goes out to try and win them all. So dumb.
  23. Can't remember the last time I started one of these - probably a bad omen. Anyway - what do we reckon? Ings presumably goes straight into the team if fit. What about Theo - straight in or on the bench? Taki will probably be jetlagged. Harsh to drop Redmond after his heroics vs Bournemouth? ---------Forster---------- KWP - Bedz - Vest - Berty Armstrong - Diallo - JWP - Redmondinho -------Ings-----Adams
  24. Is it just me or does it seem like more than fifty percent of posts on this forum these days are by one of about 4 posters, all of whom insist in taking the topics off course? Please do us a favour and go and argue with yourselves in the mirror. Anyway.. delighted for JWP tonight. Well taken goal and a decent performance. Got a lot of talent in that England midfield though so I do fear for him missing out on a place in the squad in the summer. Play your socks off til ' the end of the season though Prowsey and you'll be in with a shout.
  25. You think that being a Southampton lad and playing in a Semi Final would come above any conspiracy bollocks you seem to be fascinated with.
