gonzo Posted 27 June, 2009 Share Posted 27 June, 2009 It's on the Echo website now that Fialka has threatened to pull out after the local rag's noseying about his affairs. To me this says two things: - He hasn't got thick enough skin to get involved the emotive business of owning a professional football club. - He probably is just a chancer/conman (delete as appropriate) simply after his five minutes of fame. I desperately want to be proved wrong, especially as Fry has essentially said that there is only seven days to save the club. But it's looking like Pinnacle's dallying when they never had the clout to do the business may actually be the fatal blow to the club we all love. Matthew Le God Posted 27 June, 2009 Share Posted 27 June, 2009 Echo doesn't use any quotes though does it? Poor journalism as usual. Maybe its the truth but a good journalist would provide evidence.

fareham saint phil Posted 27 June, 2009 Share Posted 27 June, 2009 When he stood up saying "Im the money man" he must have known the press would be looking into him, certainly the local southampton press. I dont know what to make of him the good feeling i had a couple of weeks ago has gone without a trace Its amazing what has happened to our club in a short space of time

rocknrollman no2 Posted 27 June, 2009 Share Posted 27 June, 2009 If hes prepared to walk away now, just shows he was yet another tyre kicker, like all the rest. What is it with Saints? Why do we attract so many chancers?

What is it with Saints? Why do we attract so many chancers? Fry starts with 30 odd interested parties and ends up with a mummy's boy in Barnet who once played for a B Team in the London Jewish Leagues! GREAT JOB FRY - YOU REALLY DESERVE YOUR £10K A DAY WAGE! rallyboy Posted 27 June, 2009 Share Posted 27 June, 2009 Mr Fialka, walk the walk - the time for talk is over, show us the money. Matt's reputation is firmly intact, he is untouchable, he has offered Pinnacle his support for his love of the club. Mr Lynham has been very good with his updates and I think he is genuinely trying his best for the club, however, if this falls apart his reputation will be damaged. imo Mr Fry is teetering on the brink at the moment, he has taken a very long time and a HUGE fee to achieve nothing thus far. Begbies Traynor could still go down in history as the saviours of the club, or as the least talented admin company to meddle in sport. And Mr Fialka? If he can deliver the finance he has promised then he will be hailed as a hero and will be able to point the finger at the many doubters. It is too early to suggest that he may yet be exposed as a mentally-unbalanced fantasist and failed non-league player who lives with Mummy and Daddy and just loves seeing himself on the telly or hanging out with proper footballers. He still has six days to avoid that scenario, I hope for his and my sake that he has financial backing and forces the Echo to apologise. If he doesn't deliver, for me he will go straight into the top ten of people who have brought Saints to their knees, maybe even making the top three....at least the previous regimes did it because they were stupid and naive, not for vanity. So, Matt, keep the faith. Tony, get it sorted. Mr Fry, pull your finger out. Jobs a goodun.
VectisSaint Posted 27 June, 2009 Share Posted 27 June, 2009 Fry starts with 30 odd interested parties and ends up with a mummy's boy in Barnet who once played for a B Team in the London Jewish Leagues! GREAT JOB FRY - YOU REALLY DESERVE YOUR £10K A DAY WAGE! And you wonder why people walk away. The Echo gets most of its trash from here, and people like you who know nothing about the guy posting crap like this. Beggars belief that people can be so stupid. The only show in town and ****s want to make the guy look stupid. Of course he will want to help us when he finds out stuff like this is being written. Its not about being thick-skinned, its about people having some respect. There is no other viable option, we will be dead within a wekk unless Pinnacle do the business. The Swiss bid if it exists will go the same way once someone finds out one little bit of information about it, such as the main man lives in a semi in geneva with his Mum. ****** to all of you guys who are pushing this Club closer and closer to the brink of extinction. Wildgoose Posted 27 June, 2009 Share Posted 27 June, 2009 I agree it's pointless, ignorant and just plain nasty 'taking apart' people you don't know or know very little about. There is no excuse for that, no matter how frustrated we all are..... ......however, none of the latest puiblicity has helped matters, and one thing would put a stop to it all. We all know what that is! Just come up with the money to pay the staff and then push on to get the deal done! Simples!
Wildgoose Posted 27 June, 2009 Share Posted 27 June, 2009 PS to be fair, I agree with those who are saying if he walked away it wouldn't be for the reasons the Echo are stating. If he is really serious he just needs to do the business, plus he would be secure enough in himself knowing he had the 'goods' to deliver. I agree that the whole scenario smacks of something being very wrong or 'off' right now......
