Trotman

Although Preston could call Trotman back in Jan it looks as if they would struggle to pay his wages, whereas if Saints want to keep him, they could offer him a payrise. It would be hard for PNE to call him back if he didn't want to play for them. Its a sad situation though, for a club that is trying to live within its means, as we know only too well.

Why is this bad news? they sound like there struggling money wise. offer them 1m and make them have to accept!!!

If we could get him for 1 million it would be a great buy cant see them accepting that & cant see him wanting to stay with us.

The lad can play at a higher level I would expect to lose him in Jan which is a shame he is a great player.

I wonder how much they got him for...maybe go in with a "their money back" offer...

500k i think.

interestingly (i know it's not the real world..!) but on FM, we have a ''agreed price'' of 750k on the loan, and this is from the latest DB update.

but anyway, i think if we showed them near on £1m they'd accept.

That would be way too much at this stage, nearer 500-700k with poss add ons etc maybe but no way is a player that can't get in to a champonship side be worth that much

Dont think he's worth anything over about 400k, saying that we paid 1.2m for Thomas so going by that we will probably sign him for about 7m.

:)

Now now Thomas has been a revalation this season - at right back!!!

Jaidi Trotman and Thomas now that is a sizeable back line

Good news allround. No recall option and gives us half a season to see if he is worth pursuing. PNE's money situatiion doesn't sound the best so maybe an offer come January, based on AP i'd imagine.
Looks like they'll be getting £4.5m for St.Ledger from 'Boro in January (source BBC) so they'll be unlikely to be hauling Trotman back to fill that void. More likely they'll be buying a replacement.

Yes 500k according to Soccerbase.

It would be great to get hold of him, he was excellant against Charlton. Shame to see Preston in financial trouble; I thought they had a backer obviously not.

Not sure I agree with those saying they wouldn't pay £1m for him and comparing him to Thomas. Surely we should be buying a player for an amount that is sensible, but an amount that reflects the players worth TO US....i.e. if he gels with Jaidi and they contribute to a near clean sheet for the rest of the season, he's got to be worth at least £1m - perhaps more?

I would think Trotman and Trotman's agent might have a say!

I agree. Would also like to know where this 1 million pounds is coming from? I take it that we have no operating budget now and can just snap up players for silly money. Damn easy to spend other peoples money - my, life is grand now!
