benjii Posted 6 October, 2009 Share Posted 6 October, 2009 We got twice as many as Charlton tonight and also more than Leeds. Fair play to all who went. If we're at home in the next round I would like to see prices lowered a bit more to encourage a crowd of 12,000+. That said, if we're drawn against a bigger League One side or a local side, the crowd will probably increase anyway. Just shows the latent support this club has and that if it had been managed properly historically it really should have cemented its place amongst the top 12 in the country (still let's not talk about all that again!). saintsforlife7 Posted 6 October, 2009 Share Posted 6 October, 2009 Can we please give all s.t holders in the Northam a free ticket, was depressing being in amongst some people who have no idea what our songs are and have any clue what football is about in general

fareham saint phil Posted 7 October, 2009 Share Posted 7 October, 2009 Found something more entertaining than last nights game, Arizona's avatar, would love to see "what happened next" Would love to have seen the ref last night do that so he could have got the **** kicked out of him for being a control freak knobhead, talk to the keepers before the penalties not when Lamberts waiting to take the first one

I'd hazard a guess that in his other job, he is either a Civil Servant or a Traffic Warden. The man behaved like an old woman. And don't get me started on that incompetent short-sighted oaf on the Itchen touchline...

MorningtonCrescent Posted 7 October, 2009 Share Posted 7 October, 2009 Can we please give all s.t holders in the Northam a free ticket, was depressing being in amongst some people who have no idea what our songs are and have any clue what football is about in general I think it was more the quality of 1st half football and the fact we conceded two "easy" goals to a team who were way below Saints in terms of ability that was depressing. Support is support and even though the Northam clientelle was not at all like that we experience on a eague match, you simply shouldn't discard the people who chose to turn out on a wet Tues evening and support the team! The people around us joined in the songs, and even started a few once they got the feel for them. It certainly helped to keep the spirits up in Block 42 and contributed to the atmosphere. People have to start somewhere - if they're not regulars (either Northam or SMS in general) then they should be encouraged, they'll soon become part of the furniture if they feel welcomed and a part of things. I really don't get it when people say "keep these new people out of my area"..... NIMBYs in most people's opinion..... Perhaps, if it wasn't for the "new" people, we wouldn't have been able to boast about having such a brilliant attendance and that the fans kept the singing going, even when 2-0 down. fareham saint phil Posted 7 October, 2009 Share Posted 7 October, 2009 Cheers for that, i was rooting for the bull and wanted to see the ****er with the camera get a horn in side nice to see a bull fight back, cant call it a sport and the crowd wanted blood they got it!! Thought the ref totally lost the plot was giving fouls for nothing when no one appealed didn't give blatant pushes on Lambert, really did swan around in a world of his own had to be the worse of a crap bunch this season
The9 Posted 7 October, 2009 Share Posted 7 October, 2009 Can we please give all s.t holders in the Northam a free ticket, was depressing being in amongst some people who have no idea what our songs are and have any clue what football is about in general Yesterday was by far the most annoying, teenager-laden, chav-ridden, Reading Festival-esque Saints match I've ever been to. There were about 20 instances of utter n0bbers josh-fighting with their mates, and I spent half the match moving for people to go to the loo/run up and down the aisle. Jesus. So, anyone with big hair, hoody, a ginger beard or that has a bird with massive hoopy earrings who smacks people with her enormous handbag should be banned immediately. In fact I'd be happy to forsake the next round of the JPT just to get all of the bast3rds in the same place at the same time for rounding up. If we're going to play like that, anyway. As much as I agree, hearing "who's that team they call Southampton, who's that team they call the south, cos they play in red and white and they're f*****g dynamite...........(he actually forgot the ending of the song for about 15 seconds)....................................... and Tottenham's Harry Redknapp is a w***e." was just too much for me
