Leitch has obviously been watching & reading too much about Liverpool.

Commentary team down here went on and on about Lucas having critics and he was sliencing them.

Must have heard that and decided he could do the same story down here just change names and get a sexy headline.

Molehill out of a Man Mountain. Seems not only us lot on here finding things difficult to talk about when all is going so well!

yes, but then the Headline should read Saint Dean answers his critic.....

not criticS

Somehow not so "sensationalist"

Was going to make the same point but decided it bordered on pedantry.

Also, AP has not hinted at any sort of dissatisfaction with DH in public, so the whole thing is news to the fan base anyway.

Its sloppy journalism however you look at it.

not seen hard copy but the link seems to say that Pardew expected goals from him rather than fans. Seems fair enough.

Does that mean he was being criticised? I don't think so. Pards will want more goals from midfield, which is fair enough but strikers get criticised for not scoring goals not midfielders. Anybody attending the games know how much Hammond adds to that midfield, he's been one of the players of the season, so far. If he's adding goals, then all the better but "answering his critics?" Bullsht!!

quite possibly, think most relevant thing to quote is

"Full story in today's Daily Echo"!

It's a taster for the paper!

true, nothing in that brief report saying anyone outside of the club has criticised him at all.

There is such thing as positive criticism - guessing article will be something like management team happy with his workman like performances in midfield but felt he had more quality attacking and should get goals - and he has answered them with two in two games.

Just take link as advert rather than a report in its own right

Pardew said: “He’s a workmanlike midfield player.

“He hasn’t got the finesse of a Morgan Schneiderlin but he can pop up with a goal.

“I’ve been criticising him for not scoring and he’s answered me with two goals in two games, so I’m pleased for him.”

So sounds like criticism to me, Pardew even uses the word.

ahh...that wasn't in the echo earlier.

all you had was the writing above it and 1 sentence from pards “He’s a workmanlike midfield player.''

so they've obviously just updated it so it makes more sense!

Adam Leitch lives in Scotland FFS.

Yup, heard him saying this when commentating on the Carlisle away game on Solent. I thought he came across as an articulate guy with a genuine passion for Saints, would be good to hear him commentating more often, as Merrington does have a tendency to repeat himself and state the blindingly obvious.

I agree actually - I thought he was very good on the radio. I find it bizarre that the Echo has this situation going on though!
