I hate the way society now triumphs talentless numpties just because they appear on a 2nd rate reality TV.

I think it's more likely that greedy execs simply see a way to cash in on a short-term wave of public interest (or morbid fascination, whatever you want to call it), and therefore wants to exploit them whilst they have value.

Obviously those parts of society who buy this kind of crap make it all possible, but one feeds off the other... the more it's pumped into the tabloid/trash media, the more that part of society want a part of it, and the cycle continues.

All rather sad IMO, but each to their own.

Therein lies the problem, if no one bought this type of crap it wouldn't be published in the first place.

Unless they get the book out in the next week or so, it will be too late.

They will be completely off the radar by mid Jan, and then no f**ker will buy the book.

It will be on to some new fad....

Ya reckon?

I think it is a virtual inevitability that they will end up presenting kids tv and will be around for a while yet.

Much closer to the fact of the matter. We are amazingly gullible when it comes to such matters - and somebody will exploit it. The very fact that we have Newsagents bursting at the seams with such publications as OK Magazine tells you all you need to know about the 'mainstream' interest and intellect levels. If it makes them money - people will print absolute unadulterated shyte. Can you blame them?

I've already ordered my family a whole set of Jedward books...................

In fairness to Jordan, she is making a killing out of tarting herself up and selling herself on that basis. I wonder what will happen when she gets to 40 and realise she won't be able to do that anymore.

How much are you willing to bet on this outcome?

RE: "Jedward". Don't give a sh*t, but then I don't give a sh*t about landscape gardening and there are many more books on that.

I get more annoyed by the tedious predictabity of the Xfactor. Every year the finalist collaborate to make a pointless cover of some soppy ballad, with a video which is just black and white slow-mo clips of them on the Xfactor. Then the winner does exactly the same. The thing that makes it worse is that each song stays in the charts for about 20 weeks because rejects are obsessed with them.

Totally agree....now just how do we get rid of that trumped up tart Jordan who I cannot tolerate.

I imagine her 'jade-esque' announcement will be coming shortly - by March 2010 would be my guess - and then everyone will be trumpeting her in the same way they trumpeted Miss Goody.

As Minty said, all a bit sad really.

Actually, thinking about it I think she probably will carry on regardless of family life.

Seriously my number one priority would be the children but hey if you can afford full time baby sitters and a back up team of looking after the family then who gives a s**t right?

As for Jedward, I have successfully managed to miss them apart from watching half a show last week and just ignoring anything that is related to them. It is blissful.

It is sad that society laps up this tripe on both accounts though.
