Just look at that sea of Saints behind the goal...you younger ones cherish it as you'll never live t'see sights like that inside a stadium again.

Who missed a penalty for Manure when Tim Flowers ran the length of the pitch. I can't remember, but whoever it was, that must go down as one of the great misses!

Ryan Giggs.

I think you can find highlights of that Cup game on Youtube. Including the penalty shootout.

Just shows he wasn't up to being SPOTY.

Can't believe nobody's mentioned Jimmy Carter's miss for the skates in the cup game at the Dell in 1996 - we were 3-0 up going into the final minutes and the Saints defence presented him with an unmissable chance. Which he missed. The whole ground (apart from the skates) were laughing - I turned around and there was this old boy behind me - who'd probably been going since Charlie Wayman was a lad - with tears streaming down his face it was that funny. We couldn't even give them a goal. Priceless

Many many years ago at the Dell v Newcastle. Malcom McDonald (when he was still a legend) - the ball in to his feet on the volley just about on the penalty spot at the Milton end, nobody near him. He shoots..............

And it goes out for a throw in to us under the west stand.

The throw was taken from in line with the penalty spot.

We had songs about that for a long long time in our small mad group

Amusingly, the bloke in front of me in the Milton was urging Carter on to score as he had £20 on Magilton and 3-1.

The worst miss ever though is the Rocky Baptiste one for Harrow Borough:

Was there that day...oh the memories...:D

Remember an interesting escorted walk along Goldsmith Rd to Fratton station after!

Every road we crossed was sealed off by police and bricks, bottles and fireworks were abundant.

What a day.

One of the best days ever to be a Saints fan. Actually watched the game from the fartton end (as you can see by my avatar). As the Saints allocation sold quick, a bunch of us 'Frontline' Saints got our tickets at pompee. On the match day there was a bunch of us in there, another group of lads off the boats/ferries that could only get tickets at fp and also a fairly sizable group up in the top corner of the fe.

Biley's header landed really close to our group and watching Moran's winner was almost like watching it in slow motion - it was innevitable and inspiring!!

tim...

did you cheer when saints scored..?

We went mental...tbf most of their boys were on the North terrace. Mostly round us were kinda regular suppoter types, they were quiet a few 'scummer' and 'why can't it be Halifax, Rochdale or anybody but this lot' style comments, but no real hostility. Most of the Frontline boys ain't that easily intimidated either.
