Just wondering whether we will see him in a Saints shirt again if he's now busy trying to make it as a TV personality. Perhaps the injury was worse than we've been led to believe?

Savage has been on tv a fair bit recently, and he's still playing regularly for Derby. Saying that, wouldn't be surprised if Murty hung up his boots this summer, and is using punditry as his fall back option.

Yes, that's exactly what I thinking. Shame, he really did a proper job at RB.

He's 35 I think. So I'm sure he's putting out some feelers and a show like this is a great place to get rid of his awkwardness on camera. Could still play on another season IF he can get fit and stay fit.

I've spoken to him a couple of times at club events and he comes across much better than he does on the box.

I also saw him in Costa Coffee in town reading a book whilst drinking his coffee. It was a thick book too so in footballing circles that makes him either an intellectual or gay - or both.

Good bloke. IMO.

He used to come out drinking with me and a group of friends in Winchester - a long time ago now! Saints were in the Premiership and Reading were in League 1 at the time - I used to take the p*ss a bout that!

He was a friend of a friend really. He liked Winchester as nobody really new who he was so he could relax - whereas in Reading he got hassled quite a bit I think. He did get drunk once or twice - but I do remember we all went for a Chinese meal one night and all he had was boiled rice!

Haven't spoken to him in years as the mutual friend moved away!

Still not great quality with the highlights, we got about 20 seconds again but a nice idea with the show. Would've thought they could fit more highlights in to a 30 minute show, could've cut the 'speed test' and the Reading feature down a couple of minutes and just given a little bit more time to teams outside the CCC.
